Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Aslam-o-alaikum
I have a question regarding my education. I am doing an esthetics course in Canada but the problem seems to be that in my course, you MUST do your eybrows (wax them or somehow make them etc...),

and also when it comes to the waxing part of the course, you MUST be completely NUDE in front of the class.

What should I do? I don`t know whether to continue on or not? What does Quran say about this and what are some hadeeths(if any) say about this? Before I chose this course, I was unaware of this information, but now I am stuck because I have paid all my fees and purchased all the books and therefore there is no refund of the fees and books. Please guide me here. Please answer me as soon as possible.

Thank you

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sahih Al-Bukhari 7.815 Narrated by Abdullah

Allah has cursed those women who practice tattooing and those who get themselves tattooed, and those who remove their eye-brow hairs, and those who create a space between their teeth artificially to look beautiful, and such women as change the features created by Allah. Why then should I not curse those whom the Prophet (saws) has cursed?

Beloved Sister in Islam, the Messenger of Allah (saws) invoked the curse of Allah on those women who remove or pluck their eye-brow hairs; and the Wrath and Anger of Allah Subhanah is on those people who do not cover their ‘satr’ (body parts that must never be displayed) in the presence of others.

Beloved Sister in Islam, regardless of the stated conditions, fear Allah and save yourself from doing anything that has clearly been declared forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (saws).

Beloved Sister, if the school does not permit you an exemption, you can choose another course to study; and even if they don’t refund the money, rest assured that if you abstain from transgressing the boundaries of Allah only for His Sake, He will enrich you from His Endless Grace and Bounty.

As those who have, of our own free wills, accepted submission to our Lord Most Gracious, it is incumbent of every believer who sincerely fears Allah and the Last Day, to obey and follow His Commands and Guidance unconditionally. Allah is our witness, if you abstain from indulging in the forbidden only for Allah’s Sake, He will reward you generously from His Grace and Mercy in this world and the Hereafter.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 41 Surah Haa-Meem berses 30-32:

30 In the case of those who say "Our Lord is Allah" and further stand straight and steadfast (in the trials that befall them), the Angels descend on them (and say): "Fear ye not, nor grieve! But receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss) the which ye were promised!

31 "We are your protectors in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!”

32 "A hospitable gift from The One Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful!"

You might lose your current course of study, and you might lose some money in the bargain; but your sacrifice will earn you the Pleasure and Good Will of that Being Who is the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth and everything that exists in between!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
