Answer:
What
will happen on the day of judgement?
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Brother, this is such a vast
subject, that it would require volumes
if we were to write all what will happen on the Day of Judgement from the Quran
and the Sunnah. What we can do is
give you an overview of what is mentioned in the Holy Quran and in the Sunnah
of the Messenger of Allah (saws) about the some of the events that would take
place on this Inevitable Day.
The last chapters of the Holy
Quran are absolutely full of the details of what will happen in the
Hereafter. If I were to relate to you
all the aayahs it would make it very lengthy reading indeed. But let me quote you a very detailed response in the very words
of Allah from Chapter 56 Surah Waqiah verses 1-56:When
the Inevitable Event (Day of Judgment) happens, there shall be none to belie its happening! It will be a calamity which will abase (some) and exalt (the
others). The earth shall be shaken all
of a sudden, and the mountains shall
crumble and become as scattered dust.
You, then, shall be divided into three classes: People of the Right Hand. Oh!
How (fortunate) shall be the people of the Right Hand! And the people of the left hand. Oh!
How (unfortunate) shall be the
people of the left hand! And the
Foremost shall still be the Foremost!
They will be those nearest (to Allah).
They shall abide in the Gardens of Bliss. Most of them will be from among the former people, and a few from among the latter. They will be reclining on jeweled
couches, facing each other. Eternal youths shall go round them briskly
with brimful goblets and beakers and cups of pure wine from a flowing spring, which will neither cause them giddiness, nor
affect their senses. And they shall
present before them every kind of tasty fruit,
which they may choose. And the
flesh of fowls, whichever they may
desire. And for them shall be
beautiful-eyed ‘hurs’, as lovely as
well-guarded pearls. All this they
will get in reward for the works they had been doing in the world. There they shall neither hear idle
talk, nor sinful speech. Whatever they hear shall be right and
proper.
And the people of the
Right Hand! Oh! How fortunate will be the people of the
Right Hand! They shall be among
thornless lote-trees, and piled up
bananas, one upon the other, and outspread shade and ever flowing waters
and abundant fruits; neither failing in
supply, nor forbidden; and in upraised
couches. We shall create their wives
anew, and make them virgins; lovers of their husbands and of equal
age. All this is for the people of the
Right Hand. A good number of them will
be from among the former people, and a good number also from among those of
latter days.
And the people of the
left hand! Oh! How unfortunate will be the people of the
left hand! They will be in the
scorching wind and the boiling waters;
and the shadow of black smoke, which
will neither cool, nor is it refreshing.
These will be the people who had lived in ease and comfort before meeting
this fate. They persisted in heinous sin and used to say, “What! When we are dead and become dust and
bones, shall be raised up again? And our forefathers too, who have gone before?” Say to them, (O Prophet), “Surely, the former and the latter, all shall be gathered together One Day, the hour of which has already been
appointed”. Then, O deviators and
deniers, you shall eat of the Zaqqum tree and fill your bellies with it, and
drink on top of that boiling water like thirsty camels. This shall be the entertainment of the
people of the left hand on the Day of Recompense!
This is how Allah himself
describes what will happen after the Day of Judgment. The people who fail the test of this world, will endure
everlasting humiliation and unbearable punishment for ever. There will be
no death after the death of this life,
and the punishment will never be lightened or removed! All they will have is sorrow, regrets,
humiliation, thirst, hunger, pain and the scorching fire of Hell. (May Allah never include us amongst these
people. Ameen.)
And as for the fortunate people who pass the test, they will live with ease and comfort as the honored guests of Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. They will live in the Gardens of Bliss and Palaces made of pearls for eternity in a life of peace, comfort, luxury and happiness! They will never be hungry; nor sick; nor will they have any grief; nor will they experience any sorrow; nor will they fear anything; nor will they ever get old; nor will they ever die; and nor will they ever be told to leave this place! They will have no duties and no responsibilities! There will be no toil and no work! They will have no envy, no competition and no hard feelings for anyone! They will have high palaces and huge gardens, and wives and ‘hurs’, and Allah will unite them with their families and friends for their eternal enjoyment! There they will be provided with whatever they will ask for! An eternal reward as the honored guests of the Lord of the Worlds! (May Allah include us amongst these honored people. Ameen.)
The Messenger of
Allah (saws) said in one narration: “
Nothing but bliss, and peace,
and happiness, and the eternal pleasure of the Lord of the Worlds awaits the
fortunate people who will go to
Brother, I know it is difficult to imagine what the
fortunate ones will do for eternity in
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 41 Surah Fussilat (Ha Mim Sajdah) verses 30-32:Those who said,
‘Allah is our Lord’, and then stood steadfast,
angels descend on them and say, ‘Fear not nor grieve, and rejoice in the
good news of Paradise that has been promised to you: we are your companions in the life of this world, and also in the Hereafter. There you will have whatever you
desire, and whatever you ask for will
be yours! An entertainment from the
One, Who is All Forgiving, All
Merciful.’
May Allah include us amongst
those on whom He showers His Mercy. May
Allah include us amongst those fortunate beings who are granted

is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
