Angels dont enter house hijaab.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalamu Alaikum,

I need a clarification about the following:

I wanna clarify this in the light of Quran and Hadeeth.

Someone told me that the angels won’t enter a house where women are showing their hair and waiting. I feel that this seems a little exaggeration. But still I`m not sure as I don`t have the knowledge about all the hadeeth. I`ve heard that where a dog or a picture is hanged the angels of rahmath will not enter there. But is this true what she told me? They all wear hearscarf at home also and which confuses me as I don`t do it at home. Suppose if this is true, pls provide me the evidence from the sources pls.

Jazakallah.

Answer:

Angels don’t enter house hijaab

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Respected sister in Islam, the believing woman is commanded by her Lord to cover herself and her hair completely only when in the presence of non-mehram males, whether that be in her own home or outside. A believing woman is well within her rights to display her ‘zeenah’ including her hair when she is with her male-mehram relatives, or with womenfolk, or children, etc.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 24 Surah Noor verse 31:

31 And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except that which is displayed of itself; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves, whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! Turn ye all together towards Allah that ye may attain bliss.

To the best of our knowledge there is nothing in the Quran or the Sunnah which commands the believing woman to cover her hair and her ‘zeenah’ when she is not amongst non-mehram males, regardless whether she is in her own house or outside.

Respected sister, the person who told you that Islam commands that a believing woman cover her ‘zeenah’ and her hair when there are no non-mehram males present, or that the angels do not enter a home where a woman displays her hair, should be asked to provide the evidence for their statements from the Quran and the Sunnah….and we absolutely assure you there is none!

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
