Marrying a Ahmadi legal or not
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa
Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Dear
brother I have this very urgent question hope that you will answer it quickly
as I know you are very busy but Please this is urgent.
my question is that my nephew wants to get maried to a girl who is qadiyani. But
she recites the same kalma ,plus follows the quran & she even prays like
us.The only difference is they believe that Hazrat Mehdi has already come &
left & that Hazrat Issa (AS) will not come.So now is it ok if he marries
her because how can he convert her as she already recites the same Kalma. And
they also believe that Our Prophet Is the Last Prophet.Plus one more thing is
as I have read it myself if iam wrong then correct me that even if somebody
recites kalma to protect himself you have to consider him as a muslim because
Niyyat is only known by Almighty Allah. How can we say that so & so is not a
muslim are we true muslims ?most of us are only muslims by name so instead of
lifting fingers on others we should work hard on making ourselves a good
practicing muslim. Please reply soon as he wants to get married next month.
May Allah shower his blessings on you for doing this great work.

Answer:
Marrying a Ahmadi
legal or not
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for
His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He
allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there
is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
The main area of dispute with the Qaadhianis is that they consider
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as the appointed Prophet of Allah, whereas Allah has explicitly declared in the Holy Quran that
Prophet Mohamed (saws) is the Last and the Seal of the Prophets.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah
Ahzaab verse 40:
Mohamed is not the father of any of your
men, but he is the Messenger of Allah
and the Last of the Prophets. And
Allah is the Knower of everything.
There are several authentic narrations of the Prophet
Mohamed (saws), whereby he has
explicitly declared that there is no Prophet coming after him; thus anyone who claims to be a Prophet after
Prophet Mohamed (saws) will not be accepted by the muslims. There are several other issues, but this is the absolute major area of
dispute.
Therefore, those who believe
that there is a Prophet after the Last Messenger of Allah, Prophet Mohamed (saws), automatically leave the fold of Islam. If you ask the person who claims to be an
Ahmadi, what they think of the other
muslims, who declare the ‘kalima’ and believe in Prophet Mohamed(saws) as the
Last and Final Messenger, they will
reply that they have left the fold of believers and are ‘kaafirs’, because they have refused to believe in
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as their Prophet!
There are many muslims who declare the ‘kalima’, but are heavily involved in the heinous
crime of ‘shirk’; or there are many
muslims who declare the ‘kalima’, but
refuse to obey anything from Allah and His Messenger (saws). They are muslims simply because they were
born into muslim households, or they declare the ‘kalima’. We are not aware of what is in their
hearts, thus they will legally be
muslims and thus receive all the rights that are due to any muslim. They will get the right of
inheritance, they can marry among the
believers, they will be buried in
muslim cemeteries, etc. But in the
court of Allah, those muslims who
commit ‘shirk’ and ‘kufr’ will be
treated exactly as the mushriks and the kaafirs of this world, for Allah Alone is indeed aware of what is
in their hearts. But if one openly
declares that he does not believe in Allah as his Lord and Creator, or that there is another Prophet after
Prophet Mohamed (saws), he will leave
the fold of Islam, even in this
world, and his accounting in the Court
of Allah will be severe indeed.
Your
Question: that even if somebody recites kalma to protect himself you have to
consider him as a muslim because Niyyat is only known by Almighty Allah. How can
we say that so & so is not a muslim are we true muslims ?
Sahih Muslim Hadith 178 (part) Narrated by Jundab ibn Abdullah al-Bajali
In one of the battles between the believers
and the polytheists, there was a man among the army of polytheists who (was
such a fanatic that), whenever he intended to kill a man from among the
Muslims, he killed him. When Ussamah bin Zayed (r.a.) raised his sword to kill
the disbeliever, he (the soldier of the polytheists) uttered: "There is no
god but Allah," but he (Usamah ibn Zayd) killed him. When the messenger of the glad tidings came
to the Prophet (saws) he asked him (about the events of the battle) and he
informed him about the man (Usamah) and what he had done. The Prophet (saws) called for him and asked
him why he had killed him. He (Usamah) said: ‘ O Messenger of Allah, he struck
the Muslims and killed such and such of them.’ And he even named some of them.
(He continued): ‘I attacked him and when he saw the sword he said: ‘There is no
god but Allah.’’ The Messenger of Allah
(saws) said: ‘Did you kill him?’ He (Usamah) replied in the affirmative. He (the Holy Prophet (saws)) remarked: ‘What
would you do with: "There is no god but Allah," if he came (before
you) on the Day of Judgment?’ He
(Usamah) said: ‘ O Messenger of Allah (saws), beg pardon for me (from your
Lord).’ He (the Holy Prophet (saws))
said: ‘What would you do with: "There is no god but Allah" if he came
(before you) on the Day of Judgment?’
He (the Holy Prophet (saws)) added nothing to it but continued to say:
What would you do with: "There is no god but Allah," if he came
(before you) on the Day of Judgment?’
Indeed, Allah Subhanah Alone knows what is the exact condition of one’s
heart when one declares the ‘shahaadah’ or testimony of faith that there is no
god but Allah, and Mohamed (saws) is Allah’s Messenger. As related in the above authentic hadith, it
is evident that the Messenger of Allah (saws) did not approve of Hadrat Ussamah
bin Zayed’s killing of the polytheist after he had declared the
‘shahaadah’. If one declares the
‘shahaadah’ openly, he/she will be treated as a believer, and all the rights
that are due to a believer will be accorded to them. Allah Alone knows the conditions of the hearts, and it is He
Alone Who will decide on the Day of Judgment who is indeed a true muslim and
who is not.
But if one ‘verbally and openly’ declares anything that
goes against the basic tenets of Islam, or ‘verbally and openly’ declares his
disbelief in any of the Revelations of the Quran, or one ‘verbally and openly’
declares that there is another Prophet after the Last and Final Prophet of
Allah, Mohamed ar Rasool Allah (saws); then that person would leave the fold of
Islam and will be treated as a disbeliever.
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
