Give office stationary to friends
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Asallam
o alaikum,
I have
one question: is it permissible to take stationary things from office to give
it your needy family member. For example, color pencils, sharpener etc
Why I
ask this question is; these things are available in bulk in the offices and
sometime getting wasted, is it wrong to give those things in right hands those
who really need them and know their values. Please advice.
(There may be some grammatical and spelling
errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from
questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in

Answer:
Give office
stationary to friends
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
If you are the sole owner of the company, you are well
within your rights to give whatever you own to whomever you will and please.
But if you work for someone in an office, you have
absolutely no right to take something, even if it be as insignificant as a
pencil, which does not personally belong to you and give it to someone else
without the precise permission of the owners.
If you were to do such a thing, it would be considered a theft in the
Sight of Allah Subhanah and in the Sight of Shariah Law.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
