Dua in periods
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Salam,
I took my shahada one and a half year ago. Alhumdililah, I have no marham. I
have a brother muslim who is ill. I can not make dua for him because I am on my
period, what do I do?
I live with my brother Muslim. We do not act in haram. He is the only Muslim I
know in my community. I know it is haram to be alone with him. I have no marham
or any Muslim sisters in my community. What do I do?

errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from

Answer:
Dua in periods
In the name of Allah,
We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah
Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the
seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: ….I took my shahada one and a half year

The only restrictions placed by
Shariah upon the believing women who is experiencing her natural monthly
menstruation are:
- She cannot offer her prayers
- She cannot observe fasts
- She cannot enter a masjid
- She cannot have sexual intercourse with her
husband
- It is recommended that she does not touch a
copy of the Glorious Quran.
Other than the above listed five
restrictions, the believing woman who is experiencing her natural menstruation
is at absolute liberty to do what she normally does when in the state of
purity……she is at absolute liberty to remember and invoke her Lord Most
Gracious, recite the ‘durood’, recite the Glorious Quran from memory, make supplications,
etc. as often as she wills and pleases.
Your Question: …I live with my brother Muslim. We do not

What do I do?
Respected sister, although it is
not desirable for a non-mehram man and woman to live alone with each other, it
is not entirely unlawful…. provided both fear Allah their Lord and scrupulously
honor all the conditions of ‘hijaab’ between them.
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me alone. Allah Alone
Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
