One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Salam alikkum

A hindu (Mushrik) man having wife and childrens reverted to Islam. But his wife and kids are not belive in Islam. How should be the relationship with his family.

Is sexual relationship is allowed in this case?.

Please help.

Family relation of hindu revert

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

If a mushrik reverts to Islam, and his wife refuses to accept Islam and wishes to remain a disbeliever, their relationship as husband-wife would cease to exist until the wife enters the fold of Islam. It would obviously be absolutely unlawful for the believing husband to cohabit with his disbelieving wife, until the wife of her own free will, enters the fold of Islam.

The person would still remain the biological father of his disbelieving children and be morally and socially responsible for them, but his disbelieving children will not inherit his wealth from him after his death.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
