Pregnancy bida.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
As Salam Alaikum Wa Rehmat Allahi Wa Barkatahu...
Alhumdulillah I m doing well brother Burhan and hope the same from you.
Brother actually this is not a single question I am asking but it should be a
topic according to me as there are plenty and plenty of questions related to
this and some of the Bidaahs going on... basically I am relating to the topic
"Pregnancy".. Please apologise me if I have missed this topic in your
list or may be its covered under something else...
I would much much appreciate if you could answer the below Questions related to
pregnancy,
1. People say that the expecting parents should not inform anyone until the
first trimester is over (first 3 months of pregnancy). Is this true according
to the Glorious Qur`an and Sunnah ?
2. If the pregnant women recites Surah Yousuf (Chapter 12) the baby is going to
be beautiful. Again is this true according to the Glorious Qur`an and Sunnah?
3. Pregnant women should recite Surah Maryam (Chapter 19) for a normal delivery
or to over come the pains of delivery while giving birth specially in the 8th
or 9th month ? Again is this true according to the Glorious Qur`an and Sunnah ?
Also the most IMPORTANT what was the behavior of the believing pregnant women
at the time of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS)?
Jazak Allah for your time, please try to create a new topic for this so that
the pregnant women can go through this and will overcome the bidaah and follow
the righteous path at the critical stage of Pregnanacy.
Jazak Allah once again!
As Salam Alaikum

Answer:
Pregnancy bida
In the name of Allah,
We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah
Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the
seal of His Messengers.
Q-1: People say that the expecting parents should not
inform anyone until the first trimester is over (first 3 months of pregnancy).
Is this true according to the Glorious Qur`an and Sunnah ?
To the best of our knowledge we
have not come across anything in the Glorious Quran or the authentic and
established Sunnah which discourages, leave alone prohibits or forbids the
expecting parents from informing anyone regarding the birth of their child!
One is at absolute liberty to
inform anyone one wills and pleases regarding the birth of their child, or to
abstain if one so wills and chooses.
Q-2: If the pregnant women recites Surah Yousuf (Chapter
12) the baby is going to be beautiful. Again is this true according to the
Glorious Qur`an and Sunnah?
Again, to the best of our
knowledge we have not come across anything in the Glorious Quran or the
authentic and established Sunnah which declares that the recitation of the
blessed Surah Yusuf by the expecting mother would result in making the child
any more beautiful than what Allah Subhanah has already Decreed for the unborn
child!
Q-3: Pregnant women should recite Surah Maryam (Chapter
19) for a normal delivery or to over come the pains of delivery while giving
birth specially in the 8th or 9th month ? Again is this true according to the
Glorious Qur`an and Sunnah ?
There is absolutely nothing in
the Glorious Quran or the Sunnah which suggests that the recitation of the
blessed Surah Maryam by the expectant mother would soothe the pains of pregnancy,
or beget a normal delivery, etc.
These are self-invented notions
of the ignorant and should neither be believed nor practiced by the believers
who sincerely fear Allah and the Last Day.
Your Question: ….Also the most IMPORTANT what was the
behavior of the believing pregnant women at the time of Prophet Muhammad
(SAWS)?
Respected sister, other than
doing whatever is in her power to protect her and her unborn child, there is
nothing ‘special’ which a pregnant woman needs to do during her pregnancy which
she would not do when not in that state.
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me alone. Allah Alone
Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and well
wisher in Islam,
Burhan
