To what extent is use of "taweez" or amulets allowed in Islam
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum
wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon
all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
To
what extent is use of "taweez" or amulets allowed in Islam. My mom
recently gave these taweez. In Islam if I am right, the concept of the evil eye
is present. It is quite possible for a man to be under this "evil
eye." What I want to ask is whether wearing this "tawwez" is
allowed or not. About the evil eye I know Allah is protecting me. But the
Prophet(SAW) was under spell. To break the spell the Prophet(SAW) used the
Quran to break the spell. Is there a course of action which I can take in order
to save myself from such a fate. People who know my family can and try to
destroy my family using black magic. Can you please refer somehting in Quran
that can help me.
Please
reply as soon as possible.

Answer:
Evil Eye black magic Amulet
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Question: To what extent is use of "taweez" or amulets allowed in
Islam.
The
Messenger of Allah (saws) strictly forbade the believers to wear any sort of
‘taaweedh’ or amulet on any part of their body. Anyone who does wear a ‘taaweedh’ or an
amulet, starts seeking his trust and
help from this ‘taaweedh’, rather than
putting his full life and trust in the Lord of the Worlds!
Guidance is to worship, invoke,
believe and keep one’s full and unconditional trust in none but Allah Subhanah,
the Lord of the Heavens and the earth and all that exists in between!
If a believer, who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last
Day, seeks any protection for anything
in life, all he has to do is seek refuge
in Allah and supplicate Him for all His needs. For Allah Alone is the Owner of All
Strength and Power; and no harm or no
trouble can come to anyone without the permission of Allah Subhanah. Therefore,
a believer must put his full and unconditional Trust in none but Allah
Subhanah Alone.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 160:
If Allah helps you none can overcome you: if He
forsakes you who is there after that that can help you? In Allah then let believers put their trust.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah
Ahzaab verse 3:
And put your trust in Allah Alone; and enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 51:
Say: "Nothing
will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our Protector"; and on Allah let the believers put their
trust.
Uqbah ibn 'Amir
narrates that the Messenger of Allah (saws) said: "If anyone wears an
amulet (taaweedh), may Allah not help
him in fulfilling his wish. If anyone
wears a sea-shell around his neck, may Allah give him no peace."
Narrated by
An
amulet (tamimah, taaweedkh, etc.) is a string of shells or beads that the Arabs
used to put around their children's necks, believing that it would protect them
from the evil eye. Islam absolutely
abolished this and all other superstitious practices. The Messenger of Allah (saws) called it a
manifest form of ‘shirk’ and invoked the curse of Allah upon those who wore a
‘taaweedh’ seeking its protection.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 5427 Narrated by
Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The influence
of ‘nazar’ (evil eye) is a fact; if anything would precede the ‘Qadr’ (destiny)
it would be the influence of an evil eye.’
Beloved Brother, the influence of ‘nazar’ is indeed a fact
as stated and declared by none other than the Messenger of Allah (saws); and
Allah is our witness, every word uttered by the Messenger of Allah (saws) is
nothing but the Truth.
But one should also know and believe with absolutely
conviction that the ‘evil eye’ does not possess any power by itself, nor can it
harm or hurt anyone in the least without the precise Will and Permission of
Allah Subhanah. Thus one should not fear
the ‘evil eye’, but rather fear Allah their Lord and keep their faith and trust
in Him and Him Alone.
If all the ‘evil-eyes’ of the world were to get together
and try to harm someone, they would not even be able to do so without the
Permission of Allah Subhanah; for all Power and all Strength rests with none
save our Lord Most High, Most Exalted.
Your

Allah's Messenger (saws) used to seek refuge
in Allah from the Jinn and the ‘evil eye’ in men till the
Dear and beloved Brother, if one fears any harm from any
quarter whatsoever, the only remedies or dua one needs is to recite the 113th
Surah Al-Falaq and the 114th Surah An-Naas and thus seek the refuge
with Allah Subhanah from any and all evil ever approaching them; it is expected
that their Lord Most High will protect them from every harm.
Once one has sought refuge with Allah Subhanah, they
should keep their absolute trust and belief in the Power and Strength of their
Lord Alone, and need not fear any harm approaching them from any jinn, or
magic, or evil eye, or any other quarter of the unseen! Allah Subhanah Alone suffices as one’s
Protector and Helper.
If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and
commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws),
one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any
other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be
assured of being led astray.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
