Assalam O Alaikum,

May Allah with His Grace be upon on you all the time. I have many questions which are hardly for me to get the answer . Please help me to bear with details.

As per we all know that Technologies can change many things which againts islam and shariah. ex. I show in TV that one man can have longer live after Doctor prediction that he can only live 3 month longer because of heart pain. And they experiment by making fake heart from plastick and tin to be put on his chest. And it works and this man celebrate his 1 year suceess of using this fake organ. As per my knowledge, this is consider as Haram and forbbiden in Islam Please advise and tell me the correct in Islam related with surah in Holy Quran.

string instrument is forbidden in Islam, my question is : I bought a guitar long time back. I never use it anymore, also broke already. and just put in my storage. My cousin take it without my permision repair it and use for singing on road by taking money from people. It is consider as my sin or not, since I am the one who bought it.

Answer:

Medicine gives more life

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Q-1: As per we all know that Technologies can change many things which againts islam and shariah. ex. Allah Subhanah has given man intelligence, and if man uses this bestowed intelligence and invents machinery and technology to improve his condition and is good and beneficial for mankind in general, there is absolutely no harm in it.

But if man uses this intelligence, to create or invent things which lead to evil or harm man and society, then these will be considered impermissible and a sin.

If advancement in science and technology has allowed man to invent an artificial heart, or a limb, or an eye, or anything else; there is absolutely no harm and no sin in men taking advantage of these breakthroughs in technology and research. There is nothing in Shariah or Islamic Law which prevents man developing things which are beneficial to mankind.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4220 Narrated by Arfajah ibn As'ad

AbdurRahman ibn Tarafah said that his grandfather Arfajah ibn As'ad who had his nose cut off at the battle of al-Kilab got a silver nose, but it developed a stench, so the Prophet (saws) ordered him to get a gold nose.

Q-2: string instrument is forbidden in Islam, my question is : I bought a guitar long time back. I never use it anymore, also broke already. and just put in my storage. My cousin take it without my permision repair it and use for singing on road by taking money from people. It is consider as my sin or not, since I am the one who bought it.

If you had bought the guitar, and given it to your cousin or he had taken it with your permission, and subsequently he played music with it; you would share the blame and be a partner with him in his sin.

But since you did not permit him and he took it without your approval, and since his usage of the guitar to play music makes you unhappy because Allah and His Messenger (saws) have declared forbidden the playing of illegal music; you are absolutely free of blame and will have no share in the sin of your cousin.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
