IS IT OK TO CALL ONE MUSLIM TO ANOTHER MUSLIM A MUNAFIQUEEN.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

IS IT OK TO CALL ONE MUSLIM TO ANOTHER MUSLIM A MUNAFIQUEEN OR HELLFIRE (DOZAKHEE) FOR NOT PRAYING AS MUCH AS THEM

(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)

Answer:

Call a believer hypocrite or jahanami

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 49 Surah Hujuraat verse 10:

10 The believers are but a single Brotherhood: So make peace and reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers: And fear Allah that ye may receive Mercy.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 2526 Narrated by Anas ibn Malik

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘Three things are the roots of faith:

  1. to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, "There is no god but Allah"
  2. not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and
  3. not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action.’

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 1740 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘A believer does not taunt, curse, abuse or talk indecently.’

It is Allah Subhanah Alone Who will determine with Absolute Justice who amongst those who professed belief in the world were ‘real’ believers and who amongst them were hypocrites; and it is the Lord Most Majestic Most Supreme Alone Who will determine who amongst mankind has done deeds which deserve His Mercy and who amongst them deserve His Wrath and His Anger!

Based on the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, one may say that such and such a belief or a deed is that of hypocrisy or disbelief….but it simply does not behove and befit a believer who sincerely fears Allah and the Last Day to adjudge or declare from himself that his brother believer who has professed belief in Allah and the Last Day, is a hypocrite or a denizen of the Hell-Fire!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
