One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

ASSALAAMUALAYKUM.
I want to thanks for the giving a wonderful guidance through this website

and answering the questions through mails.

My question is:

What we have to do if by mistake the holy quraan has fallen down by us?

(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)

Answer:

Quran falls by mistake

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: What we have to do if by mistake the holy quraan has fallen down by us?

The Glorious Quran are the Very Words of Allah Subhanah, the Lord and Creator of everything in existence and deserves to be held in honor by those who sincerely fear Allah and the Last Day. If one intentionally throws or dishonors the Glorious Quran in any way, he will indeed be held to a severe account by the All-Mighty Lord on an Inevitable Day, but if one who sincerely loves Allah and His Quran, unintentionally drops a copy of the Glorious Quran by mistake, it is expected that Allah Subhanah will not hold him accountable for their unintentional accident.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.1 Narrated by Umar bin Al Khattab

I heard Allah's Messenger (saws) saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions, and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended.”

One need not to do or say anything, nor is there any atonement if one unintentionally drops a copy of the Glorious Quran; one should simply pick it up and place it in a place of honor.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
