Answer:

Dua for boy

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 42 Surah Shuraa verses 49-50:

49 To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills (and plans). He bestows (children) male or female according to His Will (and Plan).

50 Or He bestows both males and females, and He leaves barren whom He will: for He is Full of Knowledge and Power.

Dear and Beloved Sister, Allah blesses with children, male and/or female, whomever He Wills and leaves barren whomever He Wills; these are amongst the Decrees of Allah Subhanah, and the Decrees of Allah Subhanah can never be changed or altered.

There is a slight possibility that the doctor could have erred in his determination of the sex of the un-born child, thus unless and until you have actually delivered the baby there is absolutely no harm in imploring Allah Subhanah to provide for you whatever your heart desires. It is only natural that after being blessed with two daughters through the Mercy of Allah, one would wish to have a boy in the family, and there is absolutely no harm in supplicating Allah Subhanah for a baby boy.

But when the mother delivers what the Lord Most Merciful has Decreed for her to deliver, one should be content, satisfied, and grateful at the gift and bounty of Allah Subhanah, and continue their supplication that He bless them with a boy in the family the next time, Insha Allah.

My beloved sister, although it is only natural for one who has been blessed with two daughters to seek to have a baby boy born in the family, I would just like to relate a beautiful narration from the Messenger of Allah (saws) whose words are so beautiful and so encouraging that every believing parent would wish that they were blessed with daughters!

Sunan of Abu-DawoodH adith 5128 Narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘If one cares for three daughters, disciplines them, marries them (properly), and does good to them, he will go to Paradise.’

If Allah Subhanah blesses one amongst His believing slaves with three daughters, one should love and nuture them well, for it may be that they might be the source of their entry into the everlasting and eternal Gardens of Paradise in the Hereafter.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
