Deeds jews muslims same

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Dear Brother Burhan,

Assalam o Alaikum

The Quran is very elaborate and explanatory about the deeds of the Jews and why they were dethroned from their position as God’s chosen people. There is quite a long list of the misdeeds of the Jews. It is, however, alarming to note that almost all such traits are now ever present in the Muslims, to quote just a few, take, for example, the verses 80, 81, 94, 111 and 112 of the Surah Baqaraah, with special emphasis on verse 85 of the same Surah. My question here would be whether the Almighty actually has given us any such promise or whether we are also misguided like the Jews. And of what importance, if any, is the fact that the deeds of the Muslims of nowadays are similar to those of the Jews of the Prophet (SAW)’s time.

Wasalaam,
Your sister in Islam,

Deeds jews muslims same

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah:

80 And they say: "The fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days"; Say: "Have ye taken a promise from Allah for He never breaks His promise? Or is it that ye say of Allah what ye do not know?"

81 Nay those who seek gain in Evil and are girt round by their sins they are Companions of the Fire therein shall they abide (for ever).

85 After this it is ye the same people who slay among yourselves and banish a party of you from their homes; assist (their enemies) against them in guilt and rancor; and if they come to you as captives ye ransom them though it was not lawful for you to banish them. Then is it only a part of the Book that ye believe in and do ye reject the rest? But what is the reward for those among you who behave like this but disgrace in this life? and on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty. For Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.

94 Say: "If the last Home with Allah be for you specially and not for anyone else then seek ye for death if ye are sincere."

111 And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful."

112 Nay! Whoever submits his whole self to Allah and is a doer of good he will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.

Your Question: My question here would be whether the Almighty actually has given us any such promise or whether we are also misguided like the Jews. And of what importance, if any, is the fact that the deeds of the Muslims of nowadays are similar to those of the Jews of the Prophet (SAW)’s time.
It is indeed unfortunate but absolutely true that the Muslim Ummah today is guilty of enacting and executing every single misdeed which the People of the Book committed aforetime, which brought upon them the Wrath and Anger of Allah Subhanah.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 171 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr

Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘There will befall my Ummah exactly (all those) evils which befell the people of Isra'il, so much so that if there was one amongst them who openly committed fornication with his mother there will be among my Ummah one who will do that, and if the people of Isra'il were fragmented into seventy-two sects my Ummah will be fragmented into seventy-three sects. All of them will be in Hell Fire except one sect.’ They (the Companions) asked: ‘O Allah's Messenger (saws), which is that?’ Whereupon he (saws) said: ‘It is one to which I and my companions belong.’

The wisdom behind the listing and the re-counting of each and every sin of the People of the Book by Allah Subhanah in His Glorious Quran was to warn the followers of Prophet Mohamed (saws) that were they to do the same evils as them, they too would be similarly punished by the Lord All-Mighty; for never will there ever be a change in the Sunnah or Way of Allah Subhanah.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 62: (Such was) the practice (approved) of Allah among those who lived aforetime: no change wilt thou find in the practice of Allah.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verses 42-43:

42 They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the Peoples: but when a warner came to them it has only increased their flight (from righteousness)

43 On account of their arrogance in the land and their plotting of Evil. But the plotting of Evil will hem in only the authors thereof. Now are they but looking for the way the ancients were dealt with? But no change wilt thou find in Allah's Way (of dealing): no turning off wilt thou find in Allah's Way (of dealing).

Allah Subhanah will not Judge one because of his claims to belong to a certain race, or creed, or caste, or family, or nation, or because of his color, or name, etc.; but what is valued in the Supreme and Just Court of the All-Just Judge is belief, good righteous deeds, and above all ‘taqwa’ or piety.

Allah says in the Holy Quran: Chapter 49 Surah Hujurat verse 13: O mankind, We created you from one man and one woman, and then divided you into nations and tribes so that you may recognize one another. Indeed, the most honorable among you in the sight of Allah is he who is the most pious of you. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

It is indeed amongst the absolute and greatest fallacies of the Muslim Ummah that the ignorant amongst them believe that simply because they claim to follow the Last and Final Messenger (saws) Paradise is their birthright, regardless of whatever deeds they do!!! This is precisely the absolutely and utterly unsubstantiated belief that brought about the downfall of the nations that came before us; and if the ignorant amongst the Muslim Ummah do not amend their belief and their conduct, in light of the clear guidance and warnings of the Quran and the Sunnah, they too will fall in the same abyss as the people who received Divine Guidance before us!

There is absolutely no difference in the false beliefs and sense of Allah’s Justice amongst the People of the Book and the ignorant amongst the Muslim Ummah! One only has to comprehend these two beautiful Aayahs of Surah Baqarah, and determine for himself whether the All-Just and Majestic Lord will Judge the followers of Prophet Mohamed (saws) any differently from the followers of the other Prophets who came before him!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 111-112:

111 And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful."

112 Nay! Whoever submits his whole self to Allah and is a doer of good he will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.

To claim that Allah Subhanah will show favoritism, or Judge people according to their race on the Day of Judgement is to blasphame against the Supreme Principles of Justice of the All-Just Lord of the Worlds! The ignorant amongst the Muslim Ummah who hold this belief that they will enter Paradise simply because they claim to follow the Last and Final Messenger (saws) are in for a rude awakening on the Day of Resurrection!

The one major difference between the People of the Book and the Muslim Ummah is that the complete ummah of the Jews and the Christians were involved in the disobedience of Allah Subhanah; but it is the Mercy and Grace of Allah Subhanah that amongst the Muslim Ummah, there have always been some people who are on the Straight Path of the Quran and the Sunnah, and who strive to invite people to that Straight Path.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.835

I heard the Prophet (saws) saying, "A group of people amongst my followers will remain obedient to Allah's orders and they will not be harmed by anyone who will not help them or who will oppose them, till Allah's Order (the Last Day) comes upon them while they are still on the Straight Path."

It is absolutely imperative that the ignorant amongst the Muslim Ummah get out of their false delusions, whims, fancies, and conjectures regarding their sense of false status as the ‘forgiven people’ of Allah Subhanah simply because they claim to believe in the appointment of the Last and Final Messenger of Allah (saws); for neither the Glorious Quran that was revealed on Prophet Mohamed (saws) nor the teachings and guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws) ever endorses this belief in the least!

It is indeed the absolute misfortune of the Muslim Ummah, that the Shaytaan was successful in implanting and inspiring the exact same belief amongst a multitude of the followers of Prophet Mohamed (saws) with which he brought about the downfall of the People of the Book before us: ie. of being the ‘forgiven people’! Once one convinces himself with the false notion that Paradise is guaranteed for him, he is neither required to fear Allah, nor does he have to strive to do good righteous deeds, nor does he have to worry about his Accounting and Judgement in the Presence of his Majestic Lord on that Inevitable Day! This one inspiration of the Shaytaan and this one false belief of ‘guaranteed Paradise’ is sufficient to take the ‘juice’ out of the ignorant amongst mankind; for having convinced himself of being forgiven regardless of whatever he does or does not do, he, without fear, indulges himself in whatever his desires beckon him to do! But Alas! Little does he realize that his this one false notion will One Day bring about a perdition which he will not be able to bear!

It is only when the Muslim Ummah understands the huge responsibility that is laden upon them by their Lord, and fulfills the covenant and duties that are attached to their claim of belief in Allah Subhanah and His Last Messenger (saws), will they be able to regain the glory that is promised by Allah Subhanah to those who submit themselves to Him and His Cause.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 110: You (muslims) are the best community which has been raised for the guidance of mankind. You enjoin what is right, and forbid what is evil and you all believe in Allah Alone.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verse 77-78: O you who have believed, do ‘rukooh’ (bow down) and do ‘sajdah’ (prostration), and worship your Lord Allah Alone, and do righteous deeds: it may be that you attain true success! Exert your utmost for the Cause of Allah, as one should. He has chosen you for His service, and has not laid on you any hardship in your religion. Therefore, be steadfast in the religion of your father Abraham. Allah had named you ‘muslims’ before this, and has named you (muslims) in this Quran also, so that the Messenger may be a witness in regard to you, and you may be witnesses in regard to the rest of mankind.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4284 Narrated by Thawban

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish.’ Someone asked: ‘O Messenger of Allah (saws)! Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?’ He (saws) replied: ‘No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and put ‘Wahn’ (enervation) into your hearts.’ Someone asked: ‘What is ‘Wahn’, O Messenger of Allah (saws)? He (saws) replied: ‘Love of the world and dislike of death.’

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
