Answer:
Marriage
between brother and sister
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant
and the seal of His Messengers.
In the
Shariah sent to Prophet Mohamed (saws), the blood relationship between a
brother and sister is that of a ‘mehram’ (sacred); and it is absolutely illegal
and impermissible in the Shariah or Islamic Law for a brother to marry his own
blood sister.
If a
brother marries or has sexual relationship with his blood sister (or any other
mehram relative), then the prescribed punishment in Shariah for both the man
and the woman will the same as that of ‘zina’ (fornication and adultery). If both are unmarried, then the prescribed
punishment in Shariah is one hundred stripes for each in public; and if any is
married the prescribed punishment in Shariah is to stone the guilty to
death!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 24 Surah Noor verse 2: The
woman and the man guilty of fornication,
flog each one of them with a hundred stripes; and let not pity for them restrain you in
regard to a matter prescribed by Allah,
if indeed you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a section of the believers witness
the punishment inflicted on them.
If the
doers of such a heinous and grave sin as ‘zina’ do not seek the sincere
repentance and forgiveness of Allah Subhanah before their death; the punishment
of the Hereafter in the Court of Allah Subhanah would be very severe indeed!
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
Burhan
