I will be thankful to u if u guide me in this matter.

brother I along with my few friends have collected some money from their employers for renevation of a masjid, which is abandoned from 50 years. We tried our level best to rebuild the building& sucessfully reconstructed it.but the problem is due to some government authorities intervention and oppostion from kafirs its not possible to start prayers in that masajid.

my problem is , the money collected is kept ideal till date.i want to know whether this money can be utilised for other masjid construction? or shall i return the money to donors .

Use money for mosque for other

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: i want to know whether this money can be utilised for other masjid construction? or shall i return the money to donors .

Beloved brother, if the money was collected for the renovation of a specific masjid, then it would be best and closest to piety to either wait for the permissions from the government to come through or contact the donors and take their permission to spend their donations on building or renovating another House of Allah.

If for any reason you are unable to locate the people who donated their monies, and there is absolutely no hope that the government permission will be received to renovate the said masjid….then there is no harm in spending the monies collected on any other masjid. But the donations collected for building a masjid can only be spent on a masjid and not on anything else.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
