Why is Masjid-E-Haraam named as Haraam?

about masjid e haraam.
If this place so
holy why was this name given (haraam)? Does it mean
something bad? Who are the Salafee?

Why is Masjid-E-Haraam
named as Haraam?
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your question: My Question is
about masjid e haraam. If this place so holy why was this name given
(haraam)?
The Arabic word haraam means either Sacred, or sacrosanct, or something whose sanctity cannot be
violated, or something that is
forbidden.
The Sacred Mosque in Makkah is called masjid-e-haraam
because the place has been declared Sacred and Holy by Allah Subhanah and His Messenger (saws). It is a place whose sanctity cannot be
violated, and
it is forbidden for one to revile it, or
work or do anything against this most sacred of Mosques.
Your question: Who are the Salafee?
The salafees
are the people who say that it is not important to follow any of the four school of thoughts of the Ahle-Sunnah
wal-Jamaah.
They are a people who claim that they do not need the guidance of the
Imams, but they
will interpret the Quran and Sunnah
for themselves according to their generation.
These people call themselves salafees.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.
