Answer:
Can one donate a used thing to
mosques?
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can
misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We
bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
There is absolutely no harm if
one wishes to donate something to a mosque. If one wants to donate a carpet to earn the pleasure of Allah in the
mosques, it is expected that the Merciful Lord will give the brother ajr for
every person who prays on the carpet/s. Whatever a believer spends in the Way of Allah, and whatever good deed
one does with the right intentions, however small or big it may be; Allah Subhanah will never ever let it go in waste.
Allah says in the Holy
Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 261-262:The charity of those who expend
their wealth in the Way of Allah may be likened to a grain of corn, which
produces seven ears, and each ear yields a hundred grains. Likewise, Allah develops manifold the
charity of anyone He pleases, for He is All Embracing, All Wise.
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 2.498 Narrated by Adi bin
Hatim heard the Prophet saying "Save yourself from Hell-Fire, even by
giving half a date-fruit in charity."
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in
Islam,
Burhan
