Assalam U Alaikum, Sir it will be highly appreciated if u could please let me know the Importance of FRIDAY according to Quran & prophet (SAW) Hadis

The Importance of friday prayers

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His  forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 62 Surah Jumuah verse 9: O you who have believed! When the call is made to the Prayer on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off your trading. This is better for you, only if you know.

The day of Friday is the most important day of the week for the believers. It is the Day of gathering for the muslims, whereby the community congregates together and listens to their leaders and scholars regarding the issues of the Ummah, and then worship their Lord and Creator. There are several authentic narrations about the significance and importance of Friday from the Messenger of Allah (saws).

Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 1041 Narrated byAbuHurayrah

The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was expelled (from Paradise), on it his contrition was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour, but not jinn and men, and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him. Ka`b said: That is one day every year. So I said: It is on every Friday. Ka`b read the Torah and said: The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) has spoken the truth. AbuHurayrah said: I met Abdullah ibn Salam and told him of my meeting with Ka`b. Abdullah ibn Salam said: I know what time it is. AbuHurayrah said: I asked him to tell me about it. Abdullah ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) has said: "No Muslim finds it while he is praying...." and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah ibn Salam said: Has the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) not said: "If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer, he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it." I said: Yes, it is so.

Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 1046 Narrated byAli ibn AbuTalib

Ali said on the pulpit in the mosque of Kufah: When Friday comes, the devils go to the markets with their flags, and involve people in their needs and prevent them from the Friday prayer. The angels come early in the morning, sit at the door of the mosque, and record that so-and-so came at the first hour, and so-and-so came at the second hour until the imam comes out (for preaching). When a man sits in a place where he can listen (to the sermon) and look (at the imam), where he remains silent and does not interrupt, he will receive a double reward. If he stays away, sits in a place where he cannot listen (to the sermon), silent, and does not interrupt, he will receive the reward only once. If he sits in a place where he can listen (to the sermon) and look (at the imam), and he does not remain silent, he will have the burden of it. If anyone says to his companion sitting besides him to be silent (while the imam is preaching), he is guilty of idle talk. Anyone who interrupts (during the sermon) will receive nothing (no reward) on that Friday. Then he (the narrator) says in the end of this tradition: I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say so.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.33 Narrated bySalman Al Farsi

Allah`s Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, "Anyone who takes a bath on Friday and cleans himself as much as he can and puts oil (on his hair) or scents himself; and then proceeds for the prayer and does not force his way between two persons (assembled in the mosque for the Friday prayer), and prays as much as is written for him and remains quiet when the Imam delivers the Khutba, all his sins in between the present and the last Friday will be forgiven."

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 1363 Narrated byAbuLubabah ibn AbdulMundhir

Allah`s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Friday is the lord of days and the chief of them in Allah`s sight, being greater in Allah`s sight than the day of sacrifice and the day of breaking the fast. It has five distinguishing characteristics: on it Allah created Adam, on it Allah sent Adam to the Earth, on it Allah took Adam in death, it contains a time at which no one will ask for anything without Allah giving it, so long as he does not ask for anything unlawful, and on it the last hour will come. There is no angel near Allah`s presence, nor sky, nor earth, nor winds, nor mountains, nor sea which do not fear Friday."

Ibn Majah transmitted. Ahmad transmitted from Sa`d ibn Mu`adh.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.433 Narrated byAbu Huraira

The Prophet said, "On every Friday the angels take their stand at every gate of the mosques to write the names of the people chronologically (i.e. according to the time of their arrival for the Friday prayer and when the Imam sits (on the pulpit) they fold up their scrolls and get ready to listen to the sermon."

Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 1047 Narrated byAl-Ja`d ad-Damri

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He who leaves the Friday prayer (continuously) for three Friday on account of slackness, Allah will print a stamp on his heart.

Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 1108 Narrated byAbdullah ibn Amr ibn al-`As

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Three types of people attend Friday prayer; One is present in a frivolous way and that is all he gets from it; another comes with a supplication, Allah may grant or refuse his request as He wishes; another is present silently and quietly with-out stepping over a Muslim or annoying anyone, and that is an atonement for his sins till the next Friday and three days more, the reason being that Allah, the Exalted, says: "He who does a good deed will have ten times as much" (vi.160).

Sahih Muslim Hadith 448 Narrated by AbuHurayrah

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Five prayers and from one Friday prayer to (the next) Friday prayer is an expiation (of the sins committed in between their intervals) if major sins are not committed.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 2.51 Narrated byAbu Huraira

The Prophet said, "When it is a Friday, the angels stand at the gate of the mosque and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the mosque in succession according to their arrivals. The example of the one who enters the mosque in the earliest hour is that of one offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow and then a ram and then a chicken and then an egg respectively. When the Imam comes out (for Jumua prayer) they (i.e. angels) fold their papers and listen to the Khutba."

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 3.206 Narrated byAbu Huraira

I heard the Prophet saying, "None of you should fast on Friday unless he fasts a day before or after it."

Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 1062 Narrated byTariq ibn Shihab

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The Friday prayer in congregation is a necessary duty for every Muslim, with four exceptions; a slave, a woman, a boy, and a sick person.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
