My friends always keep debating with me that I'm too Islamic
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Assalam-u-w-alaikum Dear Sir, I have heard from many places that when a man looks at a woman,he gets a sin equivalent to that of committing adultery.I want to make sure whether this is true. Actually I cover my face even front of my sirs in school. And my friends debated me that there's nothing written in the Quran that we have to cover our face or our hands from non-mehrooms. when I tell them that we have to,they go on insulting me that I'm too Islamic. but I don't know why In my view I feel face cover should be necessary because don't you think face is the main part of attraction of a female?and we have to hide it to avoid any boy or man to from liking us. But my friends debate that liking a boy is not haram. But dint the women at prophet Muhammad (SAW) time Marry men without seeing them?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.Sister the command is to cover the body with loose clothing from the neck up to the ankles and the hair on the head. There is no express requirement to cover the face, hands and feet, though if one can and wishes to do there would be no harm. We assume you are either attending high school or college and it would be advisable if you quietly cover your head and body as appropriately as you can without making too much of an issue. This is because the hijab issue has made it to the headlines on the global stage and it is causing a lot of conflict with the non-Muslims. We have to follow the dictates of our religion without thrusting our beliefs in their faces. It would help if you will not preach openly the strict adherence of the hijab to the other Muslim sisters if they do not wish to listen to good caution. Of course if someone wants to know then you should explain fully its righteousness. There is no need to make enmity as that would make them ignore you completely and you will be left aloof. All your conclusions are correct. You are not going to school or college to seek and like the boys and vice versa, that one has to expose their bodies to attract unwanted attention. Sin is only committed when one intentionally wishes to commit illegal acts by seeking to see what should be ordinarily veiled.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
