Dear brother assalamu alaikum

as i understand from your previous answer about second marriage that it is allowed to have four marriage if we can keep justice , but as it is not possible for a normal human to keep justice it is better to have only one wife . My question is other than prophet (SAW)(PUB) who else in sahaba-e-karaam had more than one wives . Can you please put some light on previous messengers of Allah who had more than one wife.

Which prophets and companions had several wives

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: My question is other than prophet (SAW)(PUB) who else in sahaba-e-karaam had more than one wives . Can you please put some light on previous messengers of Allah who had more than one wife.

Almost all the noble companions of the Prophet (saws) had more than one wife…..such was the prevalent concept of keeping more than one wife in the society of that age that it would be much easier to identify which amongst the noble companions had only one wife!!!

The truth is that there is very little or no information is available regarding the number of wives of the previous Prophets of Allah in either the Quran, or the Sunnah, or even the Scriptures of the Jews and the Chrisitans. But from the little information available from the Scriptures those who definitely had more than one wife were Prophets Ibraheem, Ismail, Ishaaq, Yaqoob, Dawood and Sulaimaan.
