One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
As
salam alaikum!
My
parents in-law are non-muslims (Hindu), me and my wife have got them to our
place to stay along with us so that they come to know about Islam and
eventually invite them to Islam. Is it ok if they stay with us? Because they
still pray to idols in their bedroom and we offer salah & recite Quran in
ours. Please advice.

Answer:
In laws hindus
worship
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
If one invites pagans to their house with the sole purpose
of committing shirk or worshipping idols, etc…..that indeed would be a grave
sin in the Sight of Allah Subhanah. But
if one invites non-muslim friends or families to their homes with the intention
to introduce them to the Truth of Islam, and they happen to worship their idols
in their own private quarters while staying there, the one’s who invite them
are absolutely blameless and free from their ‘shirk’.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
