What does the quran say about the end times?
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa
Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
assalam
alaikum brother
what
does the quran say about the end times? does it say anything about the
emergence of some antichrist?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling
errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from
questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in
confidentiality.)
Answer:
Quran and anti Christ
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your
Question: what does the quran say about the end times?
Beloved Brother, the Glorious Quran relates several events
that will take place during the end of time and beyond…and frankly it would
become a very lengthy answer if we were to quote all the verses of the Glorious
Quran regarding the end of time!
What we can do for you here is relate a few of the events
regarding the end of time as related in the Glorious Book of Truth.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah
Hajj verses 1-2:
1 O mankind! Fear your
Lord! For the convulsion of the Hour
(of Judgment) will be a thing terrible!
2 The Day ye shall see it every mother giving suck shall forget her
suckling-babe, and every pregnant female shall drop her load (unformed), and
thou shalt see mankind as in a drunken riot, but they will not be drunk: but
dreadful indeed will be the Wrath of Allah!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 84 Surah
Inshaqaq verses 1-5:
1 When the Sky is rent asunder
2 And hearkens to (the Command of) its
Lord--and it must needs (do so)
3 And when the Earth is flattened out
4 And casts forth what is within it and
becomes (clean) empty
5 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord--and it must needs (do
so)--(then will come Home the full Reality of the Day of Ressurection.)
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 82 Surah
Infitaar verses 1-5:
1 When the Sky is cleft asunder;
2 When the Stars are scattered;
3 When the Oceans are suffered to burst
forth;
4 And when the Graves are turned upside
down
5 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it
hath) kept back!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 81 Surah
Taqweer verses 1-14:
1 When the sun (with its spacious light) is
folded up;
2 When the stars fall losing their luster;
3 When the mountains vanish (like a
mirage);
4 When the she-camels ten months with young
are left untended;
5 When the wild beasts are herded together
(in human habitations);
6 When the oceans boil over with a swell;
7 When the souls are sorted out (Being
joined like with like);
8 When the female (infant) Buried alive is
questioned
9 For what crime she was killed;
10 When the Scrolls are laid open;
11 When the World on High is unveiled:
12 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to
fierce heat;
13 And when the Garden is brought near
14 (Then) shall each soul know what it has
put forward!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah
Zumar verses 67-70:
67 No just estimate have they made of Allah such as is due to Him: on
the Day of Judgment the whole of the earth will be but His handful and the
heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand: Glory to Him! High is He above the
partners they attribute to Him!
68 The Trumpet will (just) be sounded when all that are in the heavens
and on earth will swoon except such as it will please Allah (to exempt). Then will a second one be sounded when
behold they will be standing and looking on!
69 And the Earth will shine with the glory of its Lord: the Record (of
Deeds) will be placed (open); the Prophets and the witnesses will be brought forward:
and a just decision pronounced between them; and they will not be wronged (in
the least).
70 And to every soul will be paid in full (the fruit) of its deeds; and
(Allah) knoweth best all that they do.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 69 Surah
Haaqaah verses 13-18:
13 Then when one Blast is sounded on the
Trumpet
14 And the earth is moved and its mountains and they are crushed to
powder at one stroke
15 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come
to pass
16 And the sky will be rent asunder for it
will that Day be flimsy
17 And the angels will be on its sides and eight will that Day bear the
Throne of thy Lord above them.
18 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that
ye hide will be hidden.
Your
Question: does it say anything about the emergence of some antichrist?
Although there is no mention in the Glorious Quran
regarding the emergence of an ‘anti-Christ’ or ‘Dajjaal’, there are several
authentic narrations from the Messenger of Allah (saws) which foretell the
emergence of such a person before the end of time.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.553 Narrated by Ibn Umar
Once Allah's Messenger (saws) stood amongst
the people, glorified and praised Allah as He deserved and then mentioned the
anti-Christ Ad-Dajjal saying, "I warn you against him (i.e. the
Dajjal) and there was no Prophet but warned his nation against him. No
doubt, Noah warned his nation against him but I tell you about him something of
which no Prophet told his nation before me. You should know that he is
one-eyed, and Allah is not one-eyed."
Sahih Muslim Hadith 6931 Narrated by Hudhayfah ibn Usayd Ghifari
Allah's Messenger (saws) came to us all of a
sudden as we were (busy in a discussion).
He (saws) said: ‘What do you discuss about?’ (The Companions) said: ‘We are discussing about the Last
Hour.’ Thereupon he (saws) said: ‘It
will not come until you see Ten Signs before and (in this connection) he made a
mention of the smoke, the emergence of the anti-Christ, Ad-Dajjal,
the beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of
Mary (a.s.), The Gog and Magog, and landslides in three places, one in the
east, one in the west and one in Arabia at the end of which fire would burn
forth from the Yemen, and would drive people to the place of their assembly.’
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.

Islam,
Burhan
