Books of Syed Qutb banned

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Aslaam alykum;

Could you please tell me why Sayed Quteb books are banned in Saudi Arabia?

Jazak Allaah Kheir

Answer:

Why Syed Qutb books banned

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

The late Brother Syed Qubt (may Allah have Mercy on his soul and grant him an honorable status in the Hereafter) is regarded amongst the most eminent modern scholars and writers of Islamic literature of the 20th century. Unless it is a very recent ruling of the Saudi government, to the best of our knowledge and experience, the literary works of our late brother Syed Qutb have always been freely available at most good Islamic bookstores and even taught in the better Islamic Universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It may be that in its strive to support or fulfill its role in its war against terror, the Saudi government may have banned a few of brother Syed Qutbs works on the subject of jihaad.but to the best of our knowledge, most of brother Syed Qutbs works are available free in Saudi Arabia and other muslim countries. Allah Alone Knows Best.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
