In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
There is no department or aspect of life which is beyond
the bounds of the complete code and conduct of life called Al-Islam. Islam demands that not only one’s individual
life, but even one’s communal life should be lived in submission to the
guidance of Allah and His Messenger (saws).
Hadrat Hussain ibn Ali ibn Abi Taalib (r.a.) led a
principle based uprising against a government who had taken rulership over the muslims
against the consensus of the believers, and thus against the guidance of the
Quran and the Sunnah. Thus although
Hadrat Hussain’s (r.a.) murder was done on a political basis, politics is well
within the tenets of Islam; and there is absolutely no doubt or disagreement
amongst the scholars in Islam that Hadrat Hussain (r.a.) was murdered because
of his rightful stance on a principle based on the Quran and Sunnah. Thus his death on the plains of
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
