who was the first man who martyr for islam

Answer:
First man to be
martyred
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Although the advent of the deen of Islam was introduced
through the very first human being sent to this earth, the father of all
mankind and the Noble Prophet of Allah, Hadrat Adam (a.s.)…..if your query is
regarding the first believer to be martyred in the Cause of Islam after the
appointment of Prophet Mohamed (saws) to the office of Prophethood…..then that
fortunate individual would be Hadrat Yassir (r.a.) (the father of Hadrat Ammar
(r.a.)), who along with his wife Hadrat Summayyah (r.a.) were mercilessly
murdered by the arch-enemy of the Prophet (saws) and Islam, Abu Jahl, in the beginning
stages of the Makkan period.
Hadrat Yassir (r.a.) and his wife Hadrat Summayyah (r.a.)
are universally recognized by the muslims as the first martyrs in the Cause of
Islam. When the Prophet (saws) heard the
news of the severe torture and subsequent martyrdom of the parents of Hadrat
Ammar (r.a.), who were mercilessly murdered by the evil and accursed Abu Jahl
in front of Hadrat Ammar (r.a.)….the Prophet (saws) is reported to have said to
Hadrat Ammar (r.a.): ‘Have patience O family of Yassir; your (and their)
promised destination is Paradise!’
Some historians mention the name of a noble companion by
the name of Hadrat Harith bin Abi Hala (r.a.) as the first martry in
Islam. The pagans of Makkah once
attacked the Prophet (saws) near the Holy Kaaba, and Hadrat Harith (r.a.)
rushed to defend the Prophet (saws) and received a sword blow which proved to
be fatal. And Allah Alone Knows Best.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
