As-salaam alaikum,  I have a question which is a very personal one.  I am a mother of two.  I am a modest muslim woman who has gone through many physical changes, as any mother does after having children.  But my changes really have made me very self conscious around my husband.    I was wondering if breast implants are allowed in islam.  I am  a modest woman and don't show my figure to the public. So I would not get the implants to show to the public.  I really feel my upper body has deformed .  So please let me know if I will be committing  a big sin if I do get implants.  Jezakalla.  Please leave me anonymous

Breast Implant

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verses 118-120:

118 Allah did curse him (The Shaitaan) but he said: "I will take of Thy servants a portion marked off.

119 "I will mislead them and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created by Allah." Whoever forsaking Allah takes Shaitaan for a friend hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest.

120 Shaitaan makes them promises and creates in them false desires; but Shaitaan's promises are nothing but deception.

The majority of the scholars of Islam are of the opinion that doing cosmetic surgery for the purpose of beautification is absolutely impermissible in Islam as it violates the fair nature which Allah Subhanah chose to create His slaves in. Breast implants for beautification would fall into the same category, and would thus not be permitted in Islam.

But if one has met with an accident, and cosmetic surgery or other modern medical methods can restore the persons damaged form, there is no harm.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
