Black camels and buildings prophecy.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
In the
narrations of Chapt.3 V149, its says that Muslims should not stay in the land
where shirk is practices - is it wrong to stay in western countries?
I read
again that one of the signs of the hour is that the shepherd of blalck camel
start boasting and competing with others in construction of higher buildings,
Who is this shepherd of black camel? And which is the black camel refered to
here? Exactly what does the whole thing mean?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling
errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from
questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in

Answer:
Black camels and
buildings prophecy
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah
Ale-Imraan verses 149-150:
149 O ye who believe! If ye obey the disbelievers they will drive you
back on your heels, and ye will turn back (from faith) to your own loss.
150 Nay Allah is your Protector and He is the
best of Helpers.
Respected brother, in our humble opinion, the above quoted
verses does not in any way prohibit the believers from staying in a land of
disbelievers…..it simply warns the believers that that they should not obey the
disbelievers, especially those that invite or encourage them towards their
pagan ways and beliefs…perchance their blind obedience of the ways, beliefs,
and practices of the disbelievers may turn them back from the light of faith to
the darkness of disbelief.
Perhaps the below quoted verses are more appropriate as
guidance when one chooses to live in the land of disbelievers:
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah
Nisaa verses 97-100:
97 When the Angels take the souls of those who die in sin against their
souls they say: "In what (plight) were ye?" They reply: "Weak and oppressed were we
in the earth." They (the Angels)
will ask: "Was not the earth of Allah spacious enough for you to move
yourselves away (from evil)?" Such
men will find their abode in Hell; what an evil refuge!
98 Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed men women and
children who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to direct their
way.
99 For these there is hope that Allah will forgive: for Allah doth blot
out (sins) and forgive again and again.
100 He who forsakes his home in the Cause of Allah finds in the earth
many a refuge wide and spacious: should he die as a refugee from home for Allah
and his Messenger, his reward becomes due and sure with Allah: and Allah is
Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.
Islam indeed prohibits the believers to live in a land
where they are not freely allowed to practice their belief and their
religion……If a believer who finds himself in such a place has the means to
migrate to another place where his belief and his practice of religion will not
be put on trial because of the laws of the disbelieving, then it is incumbent
upon him to do so.
The above quoted verses of Surah Nisaa make it absolutely
clear that if one gives up the practice of their religion only because the law
of the land did not allow them to practice it, and they had the means to
migrate to another place where their belief and their practice of Islam would
not be put on trial and they did not do so….such people shall have a severe
accounting in the Presence of their Lord.
But if a disbelieving nation allows the believers to
practice their belief and their religion, there is absolutely no harm if a
believer chooses to reside in that nation, if indeed that is what he wishes to
do.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.47 Narrated by Abu Huraira
One day while the Prophet (saws) was sitting
in the company of some people, Jibrael (a.s.) came (in the guise of a human
being) and asked, "What is faith?"
Allah's Messenger (saws) replied, 'Faith is to believe in Allah, His Angels,
(the) meeting with Him, His Messengers, and to believe in the
Resurrection." Then he (Hadrat Jibrael (a.s.) further asked, "What is
Islam?" Allah's Messenger (saws) replied, "To worship Allah Alone and
none else, to offer (the obligatory) prayers perfectly, to pay the compulsory
charity (Zakat), and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan." Then he further asked, "What is ‘Ihsaans
(perfection)?" Allah's Messenger (saws) replied, "To worship Allah as
if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must
consider that He is looking at you." Then he further asked, "When
will the Hour be established?" Allah's Messenger (saws) replied, "The
answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will inform you
about its portents.
1. When
a slave (lady) gives birth to her master.
2. When the shepherds of black camels
start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher
buildings.
And the Hour is one
of five things which nobody knows except Allah.
The Prophet
(saws) then recited: "Verily, with Allah (Alone) is the knowledge
of the Hour--." (31. 34) Then that man (Hadrat Jibrael (a.s.)) left and
the Prophet (saws) asked his companions to call him back, but they could not
see him. Then the Prophet (saws) said, "That
was Jibrael (a.s.) who came to teach the people their religion."
In another narration of the same incident reported by
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar al-Khattab (a.s.) and related by Muslim in his Sahih,
the portents of the Hour described by the Prophet (saws) to Hadrat Jibrael
(a.s.) were:
“That the slave-girl will give birth to her
mistress and master, that you will find barefooted, destitute goat-herds
vying with one another in the construction of magnificent buildings.”
Your
Question: Exactly what does the whole thing mean?
Time and time again Allah Subhanah has Declared in His
Glorious Quran that there is none in creation who knows the exact time when the
Day of Judgment will be established….that Knowledge is with Allah Subhanah
Alone.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 31 Surah
Luqman verse 34:
34 Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with
Allah (Alone).
But before the advent of the exact and actual Day of
Judgment several things will occur which Allah Subhanah made known to mankind
in His Glorious Quran, and to Prophet Mohamed (saws) through inspiration…..and
amongst the major Signs preceding the Day of Judgment is the advent of Prophet
Isa ibn Maryam (a.s.), the emergence of the tribes of Yajuj and Majuj, the
coming of the beast, etc.
One amongst the Signs which will precede the Day of Judgment
which Allah Subhanah made known to the Last and Final Messenger of Allah (saws)
through inspiration is the one quoted above which states that people who were
once shepherds and destitute goat-herds will vie, compete, and boast with one
another in the constructions of magnificent buildings.
Your
Question: Who is this shepherd of black camel? And which is the black camel
refered to here?
If one looks at the history of the people of the Arabian
peninsula, even only less than half a century ago, leave alone 1400+ years ago
when the prophecies were declared in Truth by the Messenger of Allah
(saws)….they were primarily shepherds and destitute goat-herds. If one looks at the cities which have emerged
in the region today, metropolis cities like
I was reading a recent news report from the UAE which
declared that in the coming ten years, six of the ten tallest buildings in the
world will be located in the UAE alone!
Who exactly are the shepherds or what exactly are the
black camels were obviously not mentioned by name by Allah and His Messenger
(saws)…thus your guess is as good as mine!
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
