Assalaamu alaykum. First of all before i ask you anything, i would just like to tell you that what you guys are doing, by helping out muslims who are confused about things, is absoloutly great, and keep up the good work. i have quite a few thing that i want to ask you about, first of all i have an uncle who got his wife pregnant BEFORE they were married(but they both knew that they were gonna get married for sure), so i was wondering if it`s okay to date another muslim if you know for sure that you are going to get married?

Secondly, my little brother who is 11(Mashallah) is moving away from Islam, he doesn`t pray as much as he should, looks at women with nasty clothes, and says bad words, and i want to know if you have any duas, prayers, ways, or anything that will make him come closer to Islam.

You said in a recent issue that you cannot kiss a picture of the Kaaba, so i want to know if it is allright to kiss a piece of paper with text from the Quran or Allah`s name on it.

My last question is something that is bothering my Muslim Friend, she wants to know if it`s okay to wear those stylish pants that show about one and a half inches of your legs. She`s not sure about it. She knows that us muslim girls are supposed to hide themselves but she says that the pants don`t show a lot of your legs only a little bit and she just wants to know what people who know a lot about Islam have to say about it. Is it Permissible to Kiss pictures?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your question: i was wondering if it`s okay to date another muslim if you know for sure that you are going to get married?

There is no harm if a boy meets with the girl he wishes to marry, provided the girl is accompanied by a male mehram relative of hers like her brother, father, uncle, etc.

What Islam has strictly prohibited is the forming of an illicit relationship between non-mehram males and females, and meeting in private before marriage.

There is no particular set of duas or supplications, if when prayed, one can guide to the Right Path whom one loves or wills!! The things you can do is talk to him in private as his well-wisher and guardian and try to make him understand the difference between right and wrong. Or subsequently, you may influence your brother to choose good, righteous, God Fearing friends….in whose company it can be expected that they would be more able to help him come closer to Islam.

And you must constantly pray and beseech Allah Subhanah in your supplications to have mercy on your brother and guide him to the Right Path.

Your question: i want to know if it is allright to kiss a piece of paper with text from the Quran or Allah`s name on it.

If one does kiss a paper on which there is a text from the Holy Quran or on which the Blessed Name of Allah Subhanah is mentioned, there is no harm.

There is no harm if a believing woman wears these stylish pants or any other fashionable clothes in front of other women, or in front of her mehram male relatives.

But when in front of non-mehram males, it is obligatory on every believing woman, who sincerely fears Allah and the Last Day, to cover herself in the manner Allah and His Messenger (saws) have commanded; by covering herself with a veil that covers her hair, and by wearing loose clothing over herself. She should not wear tight fitting clothes that reveal her figure, nor should she wear anything transparent, which may reveal her skin. When in front of non-mehram males, it is obligatory on the believing women to dress modestly and cover herself appropriately.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
