Cant find halaal food

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Dear Brothers ASSALAM-ULAIKUM

I am a student ecently I got to France and I live in the small city of Lorient where I am unable to find "HALAL" food specially meat so the choice of my food is too limited sometimes i have to eat the same thing for days, so could you help me in this regards what can I do?

Can’t find halaal food

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

All praise is due to Allah Subhanah Alone that in the day and age we live in today, one would find a sizeable believing population and the availability of ‘halaal’ food in almost any corner of the world!

But if a believer happens to find himself in a place where ‘halaal’ meat is unavailable for any reason, one should satisfy their appetite with either sea-food or the innumerable vegetarian dishes on offer. If one makes this sacrifice only to obey the Commands of their Lord and eat of the lawful and stay away from the unlawful, rest assured that their sacrifice will not go un-noticed from the Sight of their Lord, and they shall have their full and due reward in the Presence of their Lord All Knowing, All-Wise, Insha Allah.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
