Umrah hajj forgives all sins

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

As salaamu alaikum.. Suppose a person has betrayed many people and he did not even repent for that. But at some time later in life he planned for going to Umrah/Hajj. So before going to Umrah/Hajj he just went to everyone and asked for forgiveness. But among all those people, one person did not forgive him (may be because he betrayed him very badly or caused him a lot of pain because of which he was not able to forgive him). So my question is:

1) In such a case when he was not forgiven by one person, then will Allah accept his Umrah /Hajj ?

And also, that person who committed so many sins did not repent till now, but , as soon as he wanted to go for Umrah/Hajj, he went to everyone and asked for forgiveness. That means, that person is doing all these for himself and not out of realisation. Then will Allah accept his Umrah/Hajj ?

Answer:

Umrah hajj forgives all sins

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: …..In such a case when he was not forgiven by one person, then will Allah accept his Umrah/Hajj ?

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.1 Narrated by Umar bin Al Khattab

I heard Allah's Messenger (saws) saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended.”

Regardless of whether or not the person asked others for forgiveness, regardless of whether those he asked for forgiveness forgave him his injustices or not, if the person who intends to perform the pilgrimage unto the Sacred House of Allah for Umrah or Hajj does so only for the Sake and Pleasure of Allah Subhanah, it is expected that his Lord Most Gracious will accept his worship.

Your Question: …And also, that person who committed so many sins did not repent till now, but , as soon as he wanted to go for Umrah/Hajj, he went to everyone and asked for forgiveness. That means, that person is doing all these for himself and not out of realisation. Then will Allah accept his Umrah/Hajj ?

No man has been provided with a ‘meter’ or ‘guage’ to determine the exact or real intentions behind the deed or act of others…..it is The Lord All-Knowing All-Wise Alone Who knows the innermost intentions of each heart.

If a believer wishes to approach every individual unto whom he might have done injustice or harm in their past and seeks their forgiveness, it is not up to us to decide or determine whether the intentions of the person seeking forgiveness are indeed genuine or not! The Lord Most Exalted Alone Knows the ‘real’ intentions of each and every individual behind each and every deed, and He Alone will determine and make known the Truth when all are gathered unto Him on that Inevitable and Tumultuous Day of Judgment.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
