Answer:
Umrah tawaaf
questions
In the name of Allah,
We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah
Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the
seal of His Messengers.
Q-1: My aunt along with her son would like to visit for umrah
as she is a widow not yet finish her iddat period, can she go for umrah during
her iddat period?
Best to go and perform the Umrah
after the iddah period has expired.
Q-2: Can one do tawaf during umrah with the deceased name
and living person? my aunt want to do one tawaf for her late husband the
other for my grand mother who is alive and so on.
There is allowance in Shariah
for a believer to perform the Umrah/Hajj pilgrimage or even only the ‘tawaaf’
on behalf of their loved ones, regardless of whether their loved ones are
deceased or alive.
Q-3: Is it permissible in islam to take picture of kabaa
and other places as people do in mecca n medina?
The camera was invented after
the death of the Prophet (saws); thus obviously there is silence regarding this
issue in the Sunnah.
The majority of the scholars are
of the opinion that if one wishes to take photos/videos with no malicious
intent, there is no harm….and Allah Alone Knows Best.
Q-4: Tawaf alwida is done in the night and the person
leaves mecca only the next day afternoon, is it right?
Firstly, ‘tawaf al-wida’ is only
applicable and a requirement during the Hajj pilgrimage and not during the
Umrah.
The recommendation and
preference is to perform the ‘tawaaf al-wida’ as the last act before one leaves
Makkah; thus if one is leaving Makkah in the afternoon, it would be preferred
that one perform the ‘tawaaf al-wida’ in the morning rather than the night
before.
Q-5: Can one do shopping while going for umrah/hajj?
There is absolutely no prohibition
or restriction upon the believers to trade/buy/sell during their Hajj or Umrah
pilgrimage. One is absolute liberty to
trade/buy/sell during their pilgrimage, or abstain, if they wish to do so.
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me alone. Allah Alone
Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
