Answer:

What are the diff types of hajj

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

There is allowance in the Shariah for a pilgrim to perform any one of the three types of Hajj:

  1. Hajj-e-Ifraad: ie. where a pilgrim performs only the Hajj without the Umrah pilgrimage.
  2. Hajj-e-Qiran: ie. where the pilgrim performs both the Umrah and the Hajj pilgrimage in one state of ‘ehraam’.
  3. Hajj-e-Tamattu: ie. where the pilgrim enters in the state of ‘ehram’ from the ‘Meeqat’ and performs the Umrah first, then comes out of the state of ‘ehram’, and on the 8th of Dhul-Hajja enters into the state of ‘ehram’ for a second time to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

The believers living in the vicinity of Makkah are guided to perform the ‘Hajj-e-Ifraad’; but a believer visiting Makkah from another place is at liberty to choose whichever one of the three forms of Hajj he/she wills to perform.

The most common and popular type of Hajj performed by the pilgrims who come from far away lands is the Hajj-Tamattu whereby the pilgrim takes the opportunity to perform the Umrah as well as the Hajj during their stay in Makkah.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
