Use fathers money without permission.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

I am a 19 years old boy.My father is a bussinessman and he is one of the rich men in the city, and he has 2 families(waives) but he is biased to the other family I mean he is unfair in many aspects. So if I use his money without his permission for educational purposes and others,is it haram?

Answer:

Use father’s money without permission

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Regardless of whether your father is rich or poor, regardless of whether he has one wife or four, regardless of whether or not he fulfills his duties or not…..the wealth or property which he owns is his wealth, and if you take a part of his property without his specific permission, it would be tantamount to theft in the Sight of Allah Subhanah and in the Sight of Shariah Law.

Respected brother in Islam, two wrongs never make something right! As wrong and as unlawful it may be that a father is biased towards one of his families, or that he is blessed with abundance but still does not fulfill his obligations towards his children, to take or use the property or wealth of another without their specific permission would be absolutely unlawful and tantamount to theft in the Sight of Shariah Law.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
