Answer:
Meaning of duniya
and akhera
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 29 Surah
Ankabut verse 64:
64 What is the life of this ‘duniya’
(world) but amusement and play? But verily the Home in the ‘Aakhirah’ (Hereafter) that is life indeed, if they but
knew.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 40 Surah
Mumin verse 39:
39 This life of the ‘duniya’
is nothing but (temporary) convenience: it is the ‘Aakhirah’ that is the Home that will last.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah
Baqarah verses 200-202:
200 ….. here are men who say: "O Our Lord! Give us (Thy bounties)
in this ‘duniya’!; but they
will have no portion in the ‘Aakhirah’.
201 And there are men who say: "O Our Lord! Give us good in this ‘duniya’ and good in the ‘Aakhirah’, and defend us from
the torment on the Fire!"
202 To these will be allotted what they have
earned, and Allah is quick in account.
The term ‘Duniya’ is derived from the Arabic root word ‘Daani’,
which literally something which is low, lowly, insignificant, something of
inferior value, or worthless, etc. When
used in the Islamic context, the word and term ‘Duniya’ signifies the place,
time and/or life of this short and transitory world.
The term ‘Akhirah’ is derived from the Arabic root word
‘Akhr’ which literally mean something which will transpire next or later; and
when used in the Islamic context it signifies the everlasting and eternal
place, time and/or life of the Hereafter, or the inevitable life after death.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
