One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

I've a question in continuation with this.

I use to take Ghusl by filling water in a pail.  If the water poured on the body during my both spills back on the pail will it be allowed to continue the bath with the same water or do I have to use new water source?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

If one chooses to perform their full-bath of purification or ‘ghusl’ from a pail or a bucket, and during the process of taking their bath a few drops of water happen to fall in the bucket or pail, the absolute majority of the scholars in Islam are of the opinion that there is absolutely no harm. And Allah Alone Knows Best.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
