Friday Jumaa 2 or 4 rakahs
Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Salaam alaikum
Do we have to pray
the zohr prayer after the juma prayer? Or can we just
pray two rakahs?
Thanking you,
Salaam Alaikum

Answer:
Friday Jumaa 2 or 4
rakahs
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
If one attends the Friday Jumaa
service, then the two rakah Jumaa
prayer that he prays in congregation will be considered his noon prayers. There is no ‘zohr’ prayers for the one who
prays the Jumaa prayers in congregation.
One may pray any number of voluntary (nafl) prayers in two rakah
combinations after the Jumaa prayers,
if he wishes to do so.
But if one has missed his Jumma
prayers in congregation for any reason,
then he will have to perform four rakahs as ‘zohr’ prayers.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.

Islam,
Burhan
