Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Ass
Salam O Aliaikum,
Please guide me about this dream which I had seen 8 months ago but it is still
in my mind and making me depressed about my faith.
I saw in a dream that one person was moving towards a bed where one lady was
about to sleeping. In the meantime someone told me that the person who is
moving is Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) and the lady is his daughter Hazrat Fatima(May
God pleased with her). I just heard the voice of the person who introduced
them(I did not see him) After this dream
I was quite happy because I read a hadith in Sahi Bukhari Vol-3 in which
Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) claimed that `Shayateen` can never come in dream with
his face(mean if you see Prophet Muhammad(PBUH), it is in real Prophet
Muhammad(PBUH) no body else).
But
after two three months I discussed it with one of my friend with joy that I
have seen Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) in dream and explain the whole dream. After
hearing my dream, he warned me that you have to take care about your `Imaan`
because it is not a fair dream. From that day I am so worried about that dream.
Please guide me, Was that a fair dream?

Answer:
See prophet(saws) in
dream
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.123 Narrated by Anas
The Prophet (saws) said, "Whoever has
seen me in a dream, then no doubt, he has seen me, for the Shaytaan cannot
imitate my shape."
Beloved brother, it is indeed declared in an authentic
narration and true that the Shaytaan cannot imitate the shape of the Noble
Prophet (saws); but it does not mean that the Shaytaan cannot take the shape of
another human being and claim to be the Prophet Mohamed (saws)!
Thus the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws) that
when one sees him (saws) in their dreams cannot be the Shaytaan is only valid
for those who actually saw the Prophet (saws) in their lives and recognized his
features…..for the hadith does not say or imply that the accursed Shaytaan
cannot take the features of someone else and falsely claim to be the Prophet
(saws)!
But if one sincerely felt the state of spiritual bliss in
their dream, it is indeed possible that the Lord might have blessed and honored
one amongst His believing slaves to actually see (or hear) the Noble Prophet
(saws) in their dreams.
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 9.144 Narrated by Abu
Huraira
Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "When the Day of Resurrection approaches, the dreams of a believer will hardly fail to come true, and a dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of Prophetism, and whatever belongs to Prothetism can never be false." Muhammad bin Sirin said, 'There are three types of dreams:
- The reflection of one's thoughts and
experiences one has during wakefulness,
- what is suggested by Satan to frighten the
dreamer,
- or glad tidings from Allah.
So, if someone has
a dream which he dislikes, he should not tell it to others, but get up and
offer a prayer.' "
Dear and beloved brother in Islam, if one has been blessed
and honored by their Lord to witness the Noble Prophet Mohamed (saws) in their
dreams, then without an iota of a doubt, that dream is one of glad tidings from
Allah Subhanah.
Beloved brother, it is possible that whom we might look
upon as ordinary or sinning people might have done deeds which have great
weight in the Scales of Allah Subhanah.
The brother/sister who witnesses a dream from Allah Subhanah whereby
they are honored to witness the Noble Prophet Mohamed (saws)……. that person
should recognize the tremendous honor their Lord has blessed them with, be
extremely gratefully to their Lord for the honor He has bestowed upon them, and
strive their utmost to do good righteous deeds that would justify the honor
that their Lord Most Gracious has bestowed them with.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
