or is the need felt due to insecurity? { I have no home of my own - can that be the reason for my insecurity?}

Answer:

Divorce to remarry

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: I have been seperated from my husband by choice for the last 20 years and have been independent BUT now I feel the need to remarry - Is it wrong ?

Dear and beloved Sister in Islam, if a believing woman has legally separated from her husband through a ‘divorce’, she is at absolute liberty and well within her rights in Islam to seek to remarry any eligible believer she desires.

Beloved Sister, regardless of whether one owns one’s own home or the whole earth, one is not secure from the Wrath and Anger of Allah Subhanah until one fulfills His right of worship and obedience, and fears their Lord Most Majestic in whatever they do. Those who strive to worship and obey their Lord Creator, fear their Lord and their Day of Accounting, and are constant in seeking His forgiveness for their shortcomings, and die in the state of belief…..they alone are secure from the tribulations of the Hereafter.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
