Nothing in the Quran that talks about the return of Nabi Issa ( a.s.)

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Salam Alaykum,

I`ve always appreciated the answers you`ve given to my upteen questions. May Allah (s.w.a.) always shower you with his undying barakat for all the good work that you do. I can easily speak for myself and a lot of other muslims who seek your assistance in guiding us on the path of Sirat Al Mustaqeem. This question of mine is as a result of lack on knowledge on the lifes of our Nabi Issa ( a.s.). I do know from what I`ve read in your website and a bit from other website and related books that our Nabi Issa (a.s.) was not resurected and that Allah (s.w.a.) and is with Allah and will return to earth during the last days to kill Dajjal. But I read something totally different on one website which is www.mostmerciful.com. Akber Mehrally talks about how this is not the case and there are nothing in the Quran that talks about the return of Nabi Issa ( a.s.). He talks about the Davinci Code and states that nabi Issa (a.s.) led a normal life and did die too and like other nabis` had children too. You can visit the website to get all the information. I would really appreciate if you could give me some guidence on this topic.

Looking forward to your reply.

Jazak Allah Khair

Answer:

Return of jesus

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

May Allah Subhanah reward you with the best of this world and the Hereafter for your kind comments of encouragement for our humble efforts in the propagation of the Truth. If our humble and modest efforts have helped even one brother or sister get closer to Allah and His Deen of Truth, then we would consider ourselves indeed fortunate to have been given this opportunity by the Lord Most Merciful to serve in His Cause. We hope, beg, and pray the Merciful Lord accepts our humble and weak efforts, forgives us our shortcomings, and saves you, us, and all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire. Ameen.

Your Question: I do know from what I`ve read in your website and a bit from other website and related books that our Nabi Issa (a.s.) was not resurected and that Allah (s.w.a.) and is with Allah and will return to earth during the last days to kill Dajjal.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verses 157-158:

157 That they (the Jews) said (in boast) "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah"; but they killed him not nor crucified him but so it was made to appear to them; and those who differ therein are full of doubts with no (certain) knowledge but only conjecture to follow; for of a surety they killed him not!

158 Nay Allah raised him (Jesus son of Mary (a.s.)) up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.

In light of the above absolutely clear Verses of the Glorious Quran, Allah Subhanah Himself Declares that neither did the Jews kill nor crucify the Noble Prophet Isa (a.s.) son of Maryam , but Allah Subhanah raised him up unto Himself.

In what exact state did the Lord Most High raise the Noble Prophet Isa (a.s.) unto Himself, or what is the exact status of the soul of the Noble Prophet Isa (a.s.) at this time in the Presence of Allah, etc. is known to none save Allah Subhanah Alone.

Although the Quran itself is silent about the issue of the second coming of Prophet Isa (a.s.), there are several authentic narrations from the Messenger of Allah (saws) which prophesize its happening. In light of the various narrations of the Prophet Mohamed (saws), it is absolutely clear that Prophet Isa (a.s.) will come to earth again before the end of time, follow the Shariah of the Quran, and will annihilate the evil liar and disbeliever, Ad-Dajjal.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.658 Narrated by Abu Huraira

Allah's Messenger (saws) said "How will you be when the son of Maryam (i.e. Prophet Isa (a.s.)) descends amongst you, and he will judge people by the Law of the Qur'an and not by the law of Gospel!”

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4310 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Isa (a.s.). He (Isa (a.s.)) will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the Cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him.’

Sahih Muslim Hadith 293 Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah

I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: ‘Isa (a.s.), the son of Maryam, would then descend and their (Muslims') commander would invite him to come and lead them in prayer, but he would say: ‘No, some amongst you are commanders over some (amongst you). This is the honour from Allah for this (Muslim) Ummah.’

Sahih Muslim Hadith 2877 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

Hanzalah al-Aslami reported: ‘I heard Abu Hurayrah as narrating from Allah's Messenger (saws) who said: ‘By Him in Whose Hand is my life, Ibn Maryam (Isa (a.s.)) would certainly pronounce Talbiyah for Hajj or for Umrah or for both in the valley of Rawha.’

Sahih Muslim Hadith 7023 (part) Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr

…..He then reported that Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The Dajjal will appear in my Ummah and he will stay (in the world) for forty—(I cannot say whether he meant forty days, forty months or forty years.) Allah will then send Isa (a.s.), son of Maryam, who will chase the Dajjal and kill him…….

Your Question: I would really appreciate if you could give me some guidence on this topic.

Dear and beloved brother in Islam, it is Allah Subhanah Who Alone Reveals the Truth to His appointed Messengers; and those who differ with the Truth revealed by Allah Subhanah do but only conjecture and speculate without any knowledge!

Your Statements: Akber Mehrally talks about how this is not the case and there are nothing in the Quran that talks about the return of Nabi Issa ( a.s.). He talks about the Davinci Code and states that nabi Issa (a.s.) led a normal life and did die too and like other nabis` had children too.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 5772 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Salam

The description of Muhammad (saws) is written in the Torah and also that Jesus (a.s.), son of Mary, will be buried along with him.

The Last and Final Messenger of Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws) prophesized in Truth that before the end of time Allah Subhanah will send Prophet Isa (a.s.) to the earth; and like all mortals Prophet Isa (a.s.) too will taste the element of death and will be buried next to the Prophet Mohamed (saws) grave in Madinah; and Allah is our witness brother, the Noble Prophet Mohamed (saws) spoke naught of his own desire, but related in Truth exactly what the Lord Most High revealed to him by ‘wahi’ or inspiration.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 53 Surah Najam verses 2-4:

2 Your Companion (Mohamed (saws)) is neither astray nor being misled

3 Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) desire.

4 It is no less than Inspiration sent down to him.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 10 Surah Yunus verses 15-17:

15 But when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us say: "Bring us a Reading other than this (Quran) or change this." Say (to them O Prophet (saws)): "It is not for me of my own accord to change it: I follow naught but what is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord I should myself fear the Penalty of a Great Day.”

16 Say: "If Allah had so willed I should not have rehearsed it to you nor would He have made it known to you. A whole lifetime before this have I tarried amongst you: will ye not then understand?"

17 Who doth more wrong than such as forge a lie against Allah or deny His Signs? But never will prosper those who sin.

Beloved brother in Islam, even if all the men were to get together and try to claim or prove that Hadrat Isa (a.s.) is dead and will not return before the end of time, they are not to be believed; for the Truth is what is Declared by The All-Knowing, All-Wise, Allah Subhanah – The Lord of the Worlds and His Messenger (saws).

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa verse 122:

The promise of Allah is true, and who can be truer in his word than Allah?

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verse 29:

Proclaim, “This (Quran) is the Truth from your Lord: now whosoever wills may accept it, and whosoever wills may reject it.” (As for those who reject it) We have prepared for such workers of iniquity a fire whose flames have encircled them. There, if they ask for water , they will be given a drink like the dregs of oil, which will burn their mouths! What an evil drink, and what an evil abode!

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
