Answer:

Can a Muslim girl marry a Ahmadi?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

The Ahmadis are considered non-muslims, and thus it would be forbidden for a believing woman, who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day, to marry anyone who is a non-muslim.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 221 (part):Do not wed your women to ‘mushrik’ men, unless they believe.

Allah has commanded and made it permissible for the believing woman to marry only believing men. Believing in Allah Subhanah Alone, does not make one a believer! To be a believer, one has to believe that there is no god except Allah Alone, and Mohamed (saws) is His Last and Final Messenger.

Contrary to popular belief, even the ‘mushriks’ of Makkah like Abu Jahl, Abu Lahab, etc. believed in Allah; but they used to believe in other gods with Allah Subhanah, and thus they were termed ‘mushriks’ by Allah Subhanah!

Therefore, if one only believes in Allah (or God) as his Creator and Sustainer, but refuses to accept Mohamed (saws) as His Last and Final Messenger; he would not be considered a legal muslim.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
