dear brothers in islam

salam

i seek your opinion/guidance immediately. i will be thankful to you to solve my problemas per islamic view.we are residing in a foreign country in couple of years we will go back to our country.

here in foreign land with ALL our savings we purchased a restaurant 6 months back.after 3 months of purchsed the business was still not picking up. my husband was very confused whether to sell it or give more time to pick the business. so I did isthikhara and i was having the feeling not to sell it. everytime it comes not to sell, not to sell.now after 6 months also we are not doing good at all. it is in great loss, the rent is too high and we have to pay for the staff salaries etc. now i husband is having a buyer. can we sell it? as i have done isthikara 3 months back. if we sell are we doing the wrong thing? if not the money is going from our pocket and we will be in debt. is there any compensation for the isthikhara done? we are very confused. we donot want to be in sin. pls. guide us with islamic rules, what should be done.

thanks a lot

a sister.

Answer:

Go against Istakhara answer

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Dear and beloved sister in Islam, the prayer and supplication of Istakhara is but a process through which the believers manifest their own utter helplessness and their sincere trust and faith in the Knowledge, Wisdom and Power of their Lord Most High and thus beseeching Him to bring about the good and dispel the evil of the choice they are about to make.

The results of the Istakhara does not result in a Command or a Letter or a Notice from their Lord, but a precise feeling and manifestation of trust and belief that whatever is about to happen is best and good for them in their future. There is absolutely no compensation or Kaffarah associated with the prayer and supplication of Istakhara.

If after Istakhara, the conditions are such that the business in not doing well at all and there is absolutely no sign of recovery, and Allah Subhanah has sent a buyer for the business….one should look at one’s conditions and make a decision what route is best for them and keep their full trust and faith in Allah after they have made their decision, and know with absolute conviction that this was the decision Pleasing to Allah Subhanah. They should not grieve over their decision or loss and know with absolute conviction that when Allah Subhanah wills to test their believing slaves by closing one of their doors of sustenance, it is well within His Power and Reach to open a million other avenues and bestow sustenance without measure.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
