Answer:
Women jewelry and nails
In the name of Allah, We
praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: can women wear jewelry
Allah Says in
the Holy Quran Chapter 24 Surah Nur verse 31: And say to the
believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that
they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what
(must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their
bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands,
their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their
brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or
the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical
needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they
should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden
ornaments. And O ye
Believers! Turn ye all together towards
Allah that ye may attain Bliss.
Allah Says in
the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 31-33:
31 O children of Adam! Adorn
yourself with beautiful adornment (or apparel) at every time and place of
prayer: eat and drink, but waste not by excess, for Allah loves not the
wasters.
32 Say: ‘Who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of Allah which He
hath produced for his servants, and the things clean and pure (which He hath
provided) for sustenance?, Say: ‘they
are in the life of this world for those who believe, (and) purely for them on
the Day of Judgment.’ Thus do We explain
the Signs in detail for those who understand.
33 Say: ‘The things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are: ‘shameful
deeds whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against the Truth or reason;
assigning of partners to Allah for which He has given no authority; and saying
things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge.’
Allah has bestowed in
the inherent nature of the woman to adorn herself with beauty, make-up,
jewelry, trinklets, etc.; and there is absolutely no harm or restriction on the
believing woman to adorn herself with aids of beauty provided that her beauty
is not displayed to non-mehram members of the opposite sex. Islam does not
forbid or prohibit a believing woman from adorning herself with aids of beauty
like make-up, jewelry, etc. if she wishes to do so. The believing woman, who sincerely fears
Allah and the Last Day, must be careful not to display her beauty and
adornments in front of non-mehram men; but she may apply or adorn herself with
as much adornment and ornament as she wishes in front of her mehrams,
especially her husband.
Your Question: is salah is accepted if our nails are
big
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 7.779 Narrated by Abu
Huraira
I heard the
Prophet (saws) saying. "Five practices are characteristics of the ‘Fitrah’
(nature): shaving the pubic hair, clipping the nails, depilating the hair of
the armpits and cutting the moustaches short and circumcision (for
males)."
The periodic clipping of
one’s nails is a clean, hygienic and a natural act, and something which is
known as Sunnat-al-fitrah or the way of nature.
Although the length of
one’s nails does not have any direct relation or bearing to the validity or
acceptance of one’s salah, to grow nails is against the natural Sunnah and thus
not something which is encouraged in Islam.
The Prophet of Allah (saws) gave injunctions and guided the believers
(men and women) to cut their nails, not to grow them.
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me alone. Allah Alone
Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
