Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

As salaam alaikum

From `110 Hadith Qudsi" Translated by Syed Masood-ul Hasan.

Allah`s Messenger (pbuh) said:

On the Day of Resurrection, my Ummah (nation) will be gathered into three groups, one sort will enter Paradise without rendering an account (of their deeds). Another sort will be reckoned on easy account and admitted into paradise. Yet another sort will come bearing on their backs heaps of sins like great mountains. Allah will ask the angels though He knows best about them: Who are these people? They will reply: They are humble slaves of yours. He will say: Unload the sins from them and put the same over the Jews and Christians; then let the humble slaves get into Paradise by virtue of My Mercy. I am really confused by the above and would appreciate your observations on it.

Jazaak Allahu khairun.

May Allah (swt) keep you all who are involved in this endeavour on Sirat ul Mustaqeem.

Answer:

3885 unload sins of muslims on jews

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: I am really confused by the above and would appreciate your observations on it.
Dear and Beloved Brother in Islam, the above quoted hadith is found only in the ‘Mustadrak of Haakim’ and not been qualified as ‘sahih’ or authentic by any of the six prominent collectors of hadiths (Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Maajah, Abu Dawood, or Ibn Maajah).

Secondly, just because a hadith is quoted as ‘Hadith Qudsi’ does not necessarily mean that it is authentic. Every quoted hadith, regardless of whether it is stated Qudsi or otherwise, has to been vented through the science of determining whether or not the hadith is authentic.

One of the main sciences of determining whether the hadith is authentic or not is to determine whether the ‘matan’ or essence of the hadith is in accordance with the guidance of the Glorious Quran and the other established and authentic traditions of the Messenger of Allah (saws). If the ‘matan’ or essence of the hadith is not in according with the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, that hadith cannot not be accepted as authentic, even though its chain of narrators may be absolutely sound.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 164 (part):

Every soul draws the meed of its acts on none but itself: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. Your goal in the end is toward Allah: He will tell you the truth of the things wherein ye disputed.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 35 Surah Fatir verse 18:

18 Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another's burden. If one heavily laden should call another to (bear) his load not the least portion of it can be carried (by the other) even though he be nearly related.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Israa verse 15:

15 Who receiveth guidance receiveth it for his own benefit: who goeth astray doth so to his own loss: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another:

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verse 7 (part):

No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. In the end to your Lord is your return when He will tell you the truth of all that ye did (in this life). For He knoweth well all that is in (men's) hearts.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 53 Surah Najam verses 38-39:

38 Namely that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another;

39 That man can have nothing but what he strives for;

One amongst the many absolutely Exclusive and Noble Attributes of our Lord Most High is that He is the All-Just, and time and time again Allah Subhanah Declares His concept of Justice in His Glorious Quran that every individual will be responsible for his own deeds and absolutely ‘no bearer of burden will bear the burden of another’ on that Tumultuous Day of Judgment!

If one studies the above quoted ‘hadith’, one would easily realize that the concept of unloading the sins of the believers upon the unbelievers is absolutely against the concept of justice! Even in the life of this world, if a judge or court or policeman puts the blame of the sins of a person upon any other than the one who committed the sins, it would be considered absolute corruption and injustice! To even imagine that such injustice and corruption would take place in the Just and Supreme Court and in the Presence of the Lord Most Just is to undermine the concept of Justice of The Supreme Lord!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 29 Surah Ankabut verse 12:

12 And the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars!

Such will be the unparalleled justice on that Tumultuous Day of Judgment, that even if one has promised or is willing to bear the burden of the sins of another, he will not be permitted to do so! Each soul will responsible for his own deeds in that Majestic and Supreme Court of Allah Subhanah and it is absolutely inconceivable and unimaginable that one would be punished for the sins that he himself did not commit!

Thus brother in conclusion, the ‘matan’ or essence of the above quoted hadith is without an iota of a doubt against the clear guidance of the Glorious Quran and concept of justice of The Supreme Lord, and thus cannot be accepted as authentic, regardless of who has collected, documented, or translated it!!!; for any form of injustice can never ever be attributed to Allah and His Messenger (saws).

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
