Answer:
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 51 Surah Dhaariyat verses
15-19:
15 As to the Righteous they will be in the midst of Gardens and
Springs,
16 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them because before
then they lived a good life.
17 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night
18 And in the hours of early dawn They (were found) praying for
Forgiveness;
19 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of
the (needy) him who asked and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from
asking).
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Israa verse 78:Establish regular prayers at the sun's decline till the darkness of
the night and the morning prayer and reading: for the prayer and reading
in the morning carry their testimony.
There is
much blessing in staying awake in the early morning after ‘fajr’ and praying
for Allah’s Forgiveness, and reciting the Quran, if one wishes to do so. But there is absolutely no restriction in the
Shariah if one wishes to sleep immediately after his ‘fajr’ prayers.
One must
try to realize or visualize life at the time of the Prophet (saws) and even
until when electricity was invented. In
the days prior to the invention of electricity, most people would work from
sunrise to sunset, taking advantage of the sunlight to do their works. It is only the invention of electricity and
the ‘light-bulb’ which has allowed us today to stay up late in the
evenings. Prior to these inventions,
there was no reason to stay awake after ‘isha’ time or sleep after the sun had
risen. Thus it would be extremely
difficult to find a ‘hadith’ that states
the Messenger of Allah (saws) slept after ‘fajr’ prayers, nor did he
ever need to declare that it is not permitted to sleep after ‘fajr’.
One may,
if one so wishes, worship Allah Subhanah and seek His Forgiveness and/or recite
the Glorious Quran in the early morning, or one may, if he so wishes, go back
to sleep after ‘fajr’, and there would be absolutely no sin upon him.
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
Burhan
