the person performing Haj-e-badl must have performed Haj for himself/herself
before. Also, can Haj-e-badl be done more than one time?

Answer:
Hajj e badl?
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for
His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He
allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there
is no one (no idol, no person, no grave,
no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.418 Narrated by Ibn Abbas
A woman came to the Prophet (saws) and said,
"My mother vowed to perform the Hajj but she died before performing it.
Should I perform the Hajj on her behalf?" He (saws) said, "Yes!
Perform the Hajj on her behalf. See, if
your mother had been in debt, would you have paid her debt?" She said, "Yes." He (saws) said,
"So you should pay what is for Him, as Allah has more right that one
should fulfill one's obligations to Him."
Q-1: Can
my mother perform Haj for my father who passed away.
There is absolutely no harm if the widow, son, daughter, brother,
nephew, or anyone else performs a
‘hajj-e-badl’ for the deceased person.
Q-2: Also is it a condition that the person
performing Haj-e-badl must have performed Haj for himself/herself before.
Although it is not obligatory, it is highly recommended that the person
performing the Hajj for someone, should have performed his own obligation of
Hajj prior to doing it for someone else.
Q-3:
Also, can Haj-e-badl be done more than one time?
This question can be read in one of two ways:
A: Can a person do ‘hajj-e-badl’ more than once for
different people?
B: Can ‘hajj-e-badl’ for the deceased be done more than
once.
There is absolutely no harm in both the cases. A person, who has performed his own ‘hajj’,
may chose to do another hajj as ‘hajj-e-badl’ as many times as he wishes.
There is absolutely no harm if more than one person does
the ‘hajj-e-badl’ for the same deceased person.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
