Reality of Angels
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
what is the reality of angles?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Answer:
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness
that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Angels
are the created slaves of Allah. Allah
has created them from ‘noor’ or light, unlike man whom He
created from dust, and jinns, whom He
created from a flame of fire. And
unlike men and jinns, the angels do have not a will of their
own; they do unconditionally exactly
whatever their Lord commands them to do.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verses 49-50:
All the animate creation in the heavens and the earth, and all the Angels
prostrate themselves in adoration before Allah. They do not show any arrogance at all; they fear their
Lord Who is above them, and do whatever
they are bidden (to do).
They
remain engrossed in the worship and praise of their Lord, and do the duties as ordered by their
Lord. They are the messengers who carry
the revelations of the Almighty to the prophets by the leave and permission of
Allah Subhanah,
they install the souls in the human being, they record every deed done
by human beings, they
remove the souls at the time of death,
they protect mankind by their Lord’s command, they bring destruction upon a people by
Allah’s command, and do all works
exactly as they are commanded by their Lord.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verses 19-20:
All that exists in the heavens and the earth belong to Allah. And (the Angels) who are near Him disdain
not to serve Him, nor
do they feel wearied. They glorify Him
night and day without taking rest!
They
are the honored carriers of the Glorious Throne of Allah, they are the guardians of the Hell Fire, they are the ones
who will welcome the God-fearing believers to
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
