Going for Hajj on Sons expenses
Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Assalaam Aleikum
wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh.
Some one that I know wants to send his parents for Hajj-Inshallah- but his
father is under some sort of debt from a loan that he has taken from the bank
& even though the son his making his parents perform the Hajj with his own
funds he thinks that it is not permissinble by ALLAH s.w.t.
Please give me an
answer to this situation.

Answer:
Going for Hajj on Son’s expenses
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can
misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We
bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
If someone has taken debt, and
if the debt is so big that after paying it, there is not enough funds to afford
the Hajj pilgrimage; then the pilgrimage of Hajj is not ‘fard’ for these
people.
But in the above case, because
the son is paying for their Hajj expenses, his parents can go to Hajj even
though they have debt; and Insha Allah, Allah will accept their Hajj. There is absolutely no harm in a son bearing
the expenses of his parent’s Hajj pilgrimage.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.

Islam,
Burhan
