Dear brother Assalam alaikum I am very fair complexioned and my daughter is dark complexioned. People comment on this and make me feel guilty amd my daughter miserable. There are natural remedies to lighten the skin. I would like to know if i will be insulting allah`s creation by using remedies and creams instead of accepting whatever allah has given me.

Dark complexion

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

It is indeed Allah Subhanah Who, in His Perfect Wisdom and Knowledge, created us the way we are; and it is He Alone who fashioned the human being in the way He Willed. Thus, one must be grateful to his Lord and Creator for all the favors that He has done on him.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 82 Surah Infitaar verses 6-8:O man! What has beguiled you concerning your Lord, the Most Gracious, Who created you, then fashioned you, then proportioned you, and put you together in whatever form He pleased?

Thus, it is imperative that we, as believers, must accept whatever and however our Gracious Lord has created us; for it Pleased Him to create us the way He did.

If yourintention is not to disrespect or insult Allah’s creation; then there is absolutely no harm in applying cream, or seeking remedies.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
