Is it true that lead will be poured into the ears of those who listen to music
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa
Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Is it
true that lead will be poured into the ears of those who listen to music, on
the Day of Judgement?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling
errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions,

Answer:
Lead poured for music
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He
allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there
is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.494B Narrated by Abu Amir
that he heard the Prophet (saws) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of (unlawful) musical instruments, as lawful.”
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3153 Narrated by Muhammad ibn Hatib al-Jumahi
The Prophet (saws) said, "The
distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the song and the
tambourine at a wedding."
Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4909 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud
I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: ‘Singing
produces hypocrisy in the hearts’.
Although there are several narrations regarding the
prohibition of unlawful string and wind musical instruments in the authentic
and established hadeeths; to the best of our knowledge we have not come across
an authentic hadith whereby it is specifically declared that lead will be
poured in the ears of those who listen to unlawful music on the Day of
Resurrection.
The hadith whereby the Prophet (saws) declared the sin
whose punishment will be molten lead poured in the ears on the Day of Judgment,
is quoted below:
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.165 Narrated by Ibn Abbas
The Prophet (saws) said, "Whoever claims
to have seen a dream which he did not see, will be ordered to make a knot
between two barley grains (on the Day of Resurrection) which he will not be
able to do; and if somebody listens to the talk of some people who do not like
him (to listen) or they run away from him, then molten lead will be
poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever makes a
picture, will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be ordered to put
a soul in that picture, which he will not be able to do."
